Did they make outs on the basepaths or just no hitting with risp?

Baseball is funny that way. Yesterday it was one run on two hits and a Win. Go figure.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑18 May 2025 20:27 pm Did they make outs on the basepaths or just no hitting with risp?

Remember late in the game Chip mentioning 0 for 6 with RISP Baserunning was not an issue.BrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑18 May 2025 22:00 pmBaseball is funny that way. 0 for 8 with RISP. 13 LOB. 1 DP.
Baserunning was not the issue, just no hits with runners in scoring position. It was bound to happen, during the 7-2 road trip, they had been getting a lot of clutch, 2 out hits w/ RISP.

A lot of singles yesterday. Not a lot of drive.

I didn't listen, either. Kept asking Siri for the updates, and saw that we were outhitting the Royals. Seemed odd that we couldn't put more points on the board. You're right, Scotch Irish, we need to play small ball and do the little things to score runs. That used to be Cardinal baseball. We need to do it again to keep pace with the Cubs. They're playing well, again.

No one seems to know how to bunt anymore. Sac flys are still cool because one can swing for the fences.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑19 May 2025 09:28 am82 Cardinals had lots of singles but the moved the runner by various means.

Whitey had several ways of generating runs. He had contact hitters and good speed. 3-2 pitch force situation he would send the runner. Runner at 2B nobody out you would see a ground ball to the right side. They accepted a lower batting average to get the runner to third with one out.HOUCARD wrote: ↑19 May 2025 11:13 amNo one seems to know how to bunt anymore.
