Now, NOW is the time to bring your top hater [nonsense]!
Cards are playing good ball and showing what they are capable of. It's time to push them to perfection and make them even better. This league is not as easy as they have been making it look. These guys might have a shot to do something and become great if they learn to push themselves. 11 out of 12 in mid May isn't if you can't maintain it. Better tap your inner Donovan and build that wining muscle memory to fall back on in tough times. Build that winning culture that is natural to Cardinals. It's time to get in the best shape possible, master the fundamentals of everything you do and learn to love that grind. The talent and ability is there, can they take it to the next level and really be on the same level as the Champs and league leaders. Love what Manager Oli keeps talking about non stop, every inning, every at bat, every pitch, every play being focused and determined to win.
It's looked good recently but there is a long way to go to maintain at this level. Better toughen up and keep pushing to be better because the other dudes are.
My god, what a transformation.
And Gorman and Walker are [shirt].
Who would have thought this could happen
with Gorman and Walker so terrible.
Freaking weird man.

Gorman is going to have a monster second half. When the rest of the league starts to get worn out by the grind and are fighting the dog days, Gorman will be hungry and we'll rested to take advantage and feast on pitchers going through the unfocused motions. Walker just needs to keep working and fighting, the dude is awesome at learning and adjusting to get better, just look at the amazing strides he has made on defense in such a short time. Anyone who is giving up on that stud right now is a fool. Young guys can be more streaky. He is big and strong like Gorman wait until others start feeling the grind. I think he needs to just keep working with coach Brown who seems to be a master at boosting confidence. Walker has all star written all over him in the future.

This team is way more likely to start a losing streak than continue on this pace...
I'm still not buying it that the Cards are this good, or that the Orioles are that horrible...
A .556 winning percentage isn't exactly historic in any way. That's a 90 win pace. That is a reasonable.
Um, talking about May that has the over reacting, over reacting
I think they are 11-3 in May. That would be 127 win pace. That's 11 more wins than the most ever. Nobody is stating that's possible. I will take 90 and a punchers chance in the playoffs. Not just this year but every year. Isn't that what you want?

I want a pennant, but “90 and a punchers chance in the playoffs” seems to satisfy the low-competitive types, including the owner.

Herrera, Liberatore, Pallente, Scott, and Leahy, to name a few, have really stepped up.
Whether it's hating or not, I explained in the fluke thread how a lot of their pitching right now is fluky. There will be regression in both rotation and bullpen.
Unless you think all 3 of Mikolas, Fedde and Liberatore will continue to vastly outperform their projections... or that the BP will keep rolling out 23 inning scoreless stretches. I don't personally believe that so I guess I'm a hater.
On the other hand I'm still really enjoying it while it lasts, maybe even moreso than people who think it'll continue forever... so I don't know what that makes me.

And that's why you are a hater, almost the perfect definition. This is the big leagues ma'am, you don't think the Dodgers, Padres, Mets, Phillies, Braves, Scrubs, Giants want that Pennant too? The best any of those fan bases can expect is the same the Cards fans can. THAT'S BASEBALL! Whine, hate, moan and boycott due to your unreasonable expectations all you want but the more you all do, the more you get further from your goal. Even the Dodgers and Yankee doodle dandies with their huge payrolls and all star teams only have a punchers chance to win it all. So unreasonable.

OK. Just give me a franchise with all-out effort to win and I’m satisfied. The Cardinals don’t do that anymore. If you’re content with the bare minimum, that’s fine.
They’re playing good baseball right now. We’ll see if it lasts.

Huh? Did you get hit on the head with a coconut? In the same statement you posted they are not committed to winning AND they're playing good baseball at the same time. This club is capable of going 11-3 and also going 3-11, it's still the same team. You win some, you lose some, our boys bring it every game. The effort, attention to detail, being in shape, studying the scouting reports etc is the process they can control. The results not so much.

Any big leaguer is committed to winning. The ownership? Not so much. But hey, keep shaking them Pom-poms if it makes you feel better.

The same can be said about "fans" like you and your commitment to winning. Some of you haters call for boycotting the club, not showing up, not watching the games, bashing everything, not supporting the players etc. I know some of it is tough love and disappointment but the experience is (in a lot of ways) what the fans put in they get out. Cards have in my opinion always given a square deal with actually giving more than what is deserved in a lot of instances. I get it, lots of you can't be reasoned with and are never satisfied. Really it's kind of up to us whether we are more like the Pirates, Reds, or Royals OR closer to the Red Sox, Padres and Phillies.

From 2015-2023 the Cardinals drew no less than 3.2 million fans in a full season and were rewarded for their loyalty and investment with ONE playoff series win. This year and last the fans finally start getting wise and they’re criticized by people like you and laughed at by the president of the team and the FANS are to blame? I’d argue the fans have more than lived up to their end of the bargain, punching well above their weight for market size.
This has nothing to do with the players working hard and everything to do with ownership taking fan loyalty for granted and coasting.
