Cmon, Scouty. The poster was just asking a question. Why does someone always have to give a smartass response? Some people like interaction.

Go to the St. Louis sub on Reddit. You’ll see picture after picture of trees down, houses damaged, etc..
Also, some posts about people outright stopping under overpasses on the highway and backing up traffic. I get the weather was bad, but that’s insane behavior and very dangerous.

That picture from the Arch is incredible, frightening, something to behold.
And that is coming from me, not my namesake.

Just FYI, that picture from the Arch isn't a tornado. That's a rain column or whatever it's called. That would be an F5 if all of that were a tornado. It was wild near the stadium yesterday. One minute it was a pleasant day, 30 minutes later the sky was tornado green and I had a bag packed with valuables as I stared out the window. I know the twister touched down in the Forest Park/CWE. Not sure how long it stayed on the ground but was less than half a mile north of downtown so I didn't have to dart to the stairwell.Jackie Chiles wrote: ↑16 May 2025 21:06 pm That picture from the Arch is incredible, frightening, something to behold.

And 30 minutes later, it was bright, sunny day. Very bizarre.

I’ll disagree to a degree. Could be a tornado rain wrapped in there. However, your assertion is also correct. It looks like a micro burst at a minimum. It’s does have a nice rotation on the cloud wall, so I know the thunderstorm has spin.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑17 May 2025 10:58 amJust FYI, that picture from the Arch isn't a tornado. Yeah, that's true, I just thought it touched down further north but it totally could have been and probably was in the initial stages of formation right there considering the path it took.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑17 May 2025 11:25 amI’ll disagree to a degree. Couldn't even get to Straubs today to buy my favorite Rasberry Chipotle sauce as they're the only store in town that carries it. It's still a mess over there in Forest Park/CWE.
