Fraud Alert : Playoff Edition. 5-15

This is just a commentary on how the playoffs were going. My pre-playoffs opinion was that there were 5 teams in the west with a shot at the cup and realistically maybe 2 in the East. I thought it went Dallas/Avs as 1A1B then 3 was the Oil, 4 was Vegas 5 were the Jets. I thought the Leafs and Panthers fit somewhere behind 3 but in the mix where the Leafs were maybe 5 and the Panthers were in Jets territory. That was coming into the playoffs.

That's how I had it. But man Vegas and the Jets are frauds or big time fraud watch for the Jets. If Toronto doesn't force a game 7, there is something extremely wrong with that Locker Room come playoff time and they need to just overhaul it and say F it because you can't be losing 4 in a row, no matter if it's the cup defending team or not. They were utterly embarrassed last night. Some of those guys should legit be requesting to be moved or be running for the hills if you have UFA status. It's one thing to lose in the 2nd round, it's another thing to almost go 6 periods of hockey (scored with 2 minutes left) with that offensive capability.

Who you guys as of today have as your top 2 assuming we get Dallas/Oil. I think there's still a glimmer of hope for the Caps because they have been streaky, so just getting the puck going the right direction could transfer for them. But that should be over too.

I think we are going to see a Dallas/Panthers series, but I wouldn't mind a rematch. Carolina could give Florida some trouble if Carolina ends it tonight and the Leafs force a game 7.

Well I think Dallas absolutely stomps the Jets and with the addition of Rantanen takes out the Oil in 6.

Carolina ends the season for the Caps in 6 and then if history has shown us anything essentially gets swept by the winner of Toronto and Florida.

Toronto played like they were drunk last night, but as we saw during 2019 sometimes playing at home for a team with very high expectations can be a detriment. I think it goes 7 but won't predict a winner.

As much as I hate them, the Oilers dispatch Dallas in 6. Panthers come out of the East but lose in 5.

At this point I want Edmonton to win but I think Dallas gives them a tough task, and Florida just has that mojo again. Tough to predict. With the general ease that the Leafs took care of Ottawa I thought maybe they had turned a corner but now I’m thinking they’re toast. The mental block that room has is too big for even Berube.
