As a player he's a slam dunk, 1st ballot Hall of Famer and that's what he's going in for not his managing which s u c k e d.
Once the Hall started letting STEROID freaks in, there was no reason to exclude Rose the Player anymore.

There is an integrity clause. Vote should be anonymous. I don't care but it should say he bet on baseball on the plaque.

I actually think there's a lot of merit to Derrick Goold's suggestion. Induct all of the questionable characters who performed at a HOF level and list their (baseball) transgressions on their plaque, whether it be gambling, performance-enhancing drug use, etc. The players get to say they're Hall of Famers and fans can get the whole picture to interpret and evaluate how they see fit.

It's silly to pretend these players who put up some of the greatest numbers ever didn't exist, which is what the HOF currently does. They're a part of baseball history so include them in the most truthful way possible.
