Tavares
Why isn't he out number one target for 2C? I know he is 34 but he still had 38 goals this year and 7pts in 10 playoff games and you can get him on 3yr deal which allows Dvorsky to break into the league at wing like Thomas did and develop him properly. Plus I'm not 100% sure Dvorsky will have the speed for center without some serious training on his skating and positioning for at least the next 2yrs.

Re: Tavares
He's been mentioned by a few posters. I would want him for 2 years, 3 years max. Problem is, you'll probably have to pay for 4 years at a premium at that. Also, if I recall in 2018, the Blues wanted an audience with his camp when he was a FA but didn't make the cut. He might not be interested in STL.
And he wouldn't "block" Dvorsky IMO. You can't just roll out a red carpet for Dvorsky. He's a long way from being penciled in as 2C. If he grabs it, great.

Re: Tavares
Tavares is a real competitor and wants to win now.
Re: Tavares
Well let’s see if Tavares can score for Toronto who got shut out last game. I’m tired of Florida winning like I was tired of Tampa Bay winning so I’m hoping try to moves on from this round
Re: Tavares
Two heavyweight teams. I thought no Florida will win, but no shame in losing to them

Re: Tavares
I really don't believe Tavares is the type of player the Blues should be looking at.
If he wanted to come to the Blues for half or less what he makes now for a couple of years with no movement restrictions then OK.
If Army believes he puts the Blues in the Cup Finals then ok. I don't see it, he hasn't really moved the needle in Toronto. If he goes luxury car he'd better be right, not like the guy in Nashville last summer.

They are laying the cup champs. Matthews has 0 goalsBlue Sabbath wrote: ↑13 May 2025 19:28 pm
I mentioned him a couple months back but after seeing him losing races to the puck and board battles last game against FL I'm not so sure about him. Maybe someone can make a case for him.
Re: Tavares
Too old for what we need. Please not another bloated ntc contract

Re: Tavares
He was looking at a 7-year contract for the prime years of his career. Toronto offered everything he could have wanted in terms of his dream location and opportunity. St. Louis didn’t (but we did win the Cup and he likely won’t).Section315 wrote: ↑13 May 2025 17:56 pm He's been mentioned by a few posters. I would want him for 2 years, 3 years max. It’s going to be a different set of circumstances for him this time. Less money. Fewer years. Smaller role on whatever team he settles on. I think he most likely goes wherever he thinks can win immediately (probably not us) but it’s a different situation now.

Agreed. My guess is he’d like to finish out his career a Leaf but I also haven’t really paid much attention to him or his future plans.bluetunehead wrote: ↑13 May 2025 20:12 pmHe was looking at a 7-year contract for the prime years of his career. If he does reach UFA though, I think Army should at least kick the tires. See what it would take to sign him. He probably wouldn’t want to come here I’d probably only be willing to go 3 years and my guess is he could get 4-5 but we’ll see. No harm in inquiring. He’d probably be a good stop gap and mentor to Dvorsky.
Re: Tavares
I think most people just think its a huge long shot he would come to STL. Of course we should try but its unlikely IMO.
