"Hold my Coors" - Rockies futility watch
The '24 White Sox set a record for most losses in a season (modern era, beginning in 1900). The 1916 Philadelphia A's didn't lose that many, but with a 154 game season they finished with the lowest winning percentage, a dubious record that still holds. The '25 Rockies are on a pace to break both records. Where are they today?
Rockies today: 6-32 .158
.24 White Sox: 121 losses
'16 Athletics .235 win percentage
Rockies pace: 26-136
Rockies remaining pace to match loss record: 35-89 .282
Rockies remaining pace to match win percentage record: 32-98 .246

Just looked online and the Rockies are averaging slightly higher per game attendance numbers than the Cards. That is pretty amazing/interesting considering the obvious futility of that team. The numbers I found, CO is averaging 29397 per game vs STL 27774 per game. It was an ESPN site that I saw these numbers.

The Rockies are arguably the worst team in the history of MLB. Currently being pummeled 16-0 in the top of 5th by the Pads. The Colorado fans have supported the team and deserve much better than this Rocky Horror Picture Show. Such a shame.

Loss to Detroit 10-2
Loss to Detroit 11-1
Loss to San Diego 13-9
Losing to San Diego 19-0 (5th)
That’s a brutal 4 game stretch.
3 of their SP’s have H/9 above 13

That's the thing. They're not just losing, they're giving up double digits every game. Something like -125 run differential??cardiological wrote: ↑10 May 2025 20:49 pm The Rockies are arguably the worst team in the history of MLB. A couple of months ago, Shady suggested that the Cardinals rotation was more suspect than the Rockiescardiological wrote: ↑10 May 2025 20:49 pm The Rockies are arguably the worst team in the history of MLB. They are already 19.5 games back in of the Dodgers/Padres. Given how good that division is and how bad they are, they will shatter the record for most games back in the division this year I think. I believe the record is like 64 games back. They could very well be 70 back when it’s all said and done.

The craziest part is it'd be super embarrassing to the teams that have a loss against them. It's mlb, any team can win I know but .....(bleep) lol
Re: "Hold my Coors" - Rockies futility watch
Through 50 games they are 23 games back in the division.
They have a -159 run differential. The other 4 teams in the NL West are all positive run differential teams and combined the division has a negative run differential because of the Rockies.
They are 8-42.
They are currently on their 5th losing streak of at least 5 games.
They have one pitcher with more than 1 win, rookie/2023 1st round pick Chase Dollander, who is 2-5.

Not my original thought but it's insane and hilarious that the 2024 White Sox will only have been the worst team ever for one year.

What's their magic number.

UPDATE 6/1
Rockies today: 9-50 .153
Present record holders:
'24 White Sox: 121 losses
'16 Athletics .235 win percentage
Rockies pace: 25-137
Rockies remaining pace to match loss record: 32-71 .347
Rockies remaining pace to match win percentage record: 29-74 .261
If Colorado plays .500 ball the rest of the season they will still lose over 100 games.

I said it on another thread, but this Rockies team stinks much worse than the 2024 White Sox. There is not one player within that organization that I would care to see play. The city deserves better. The state deserves better. Colorado has one of the most beautiful venues in all of American sports and the Monfort brothers have chosen to foul it up with a team that possesses exactly zero endearing qualities.

You can't even say it' say it's a rebuild or retool. It's a total abdication.VegasVinny wrote: ↑02 Jun 2025 09:55 am I said it on another thread, but this Rockies team stinks much worse than the 2024 White Sox.
