The internet has long-since revealed to me, as many others, the vast reservoir of human stupidity, perversity the extent to which prior I never would have imagined.

And then, over time, it became clear that the internet ITSELF (along w/ the spawning of 'news entertainment' cable channels) were acting as a proliferator of this very human defect, making that reservoir far, far larger, infecting the youth, effectively, in their crib, but also mature previously presumably well-formed people to an extremity of paranoia, suspicion, contempt averse to any investigation, the promotion of a swarm of meme-swallowing, meme-spouting functional cretins ?

Who would have guessed that having a library at our fingertips would have promoted the exact opposite effect any decent person must have likely & presumably reasonably anticipated ?

As a congenital optimist, it's been a rough ride.
