My energy is off the hook after going last night. Was wired silly when I got home and didn't fall asleep until after 1 and here I am wide awake without a care in the world. LGB! Perusing the HF Board, Jets forum and decided to post some nuggets of fun for your reading pleasure:

Brayden Schenn woke up this morning thinking he helped his team by knocking Scheifele out of Game 6.

I would not be surprised if the Jets play their best game tonight and end the series.

Game 5 Refs miss a trip on Perfetti, high stick on Appleton in first 1:23 of the game (here is the first ref whining,will see how bad it gets)

As always and forever, f*** the Blues.

Gonna be a nice long handshake line tonight in STL. Blooze are goin' to come out gangbusters and Helle will be a wall; I can feel it in my bones. (ooops)

I hope big Stan just runs through Thomas or someone of equal value, we just got to get through this 1 game and late hits/jumping is allowed now (whaaaaaaaaaaaaa)

Scheifele would still be playing if the NHL actually called the penalties that are in THEIR rulebook

Thanks for posting. I spent a lot of time perusing their forum too and the whining about the refs really is a thing. It’s a super physical series no doubt and the refs haven’t been great but outside of the Schenn penalty, which was utter nonsense, I don’t feel like either team has been heavily favored as far as calls go.

In reading their posts it feels to me like revisiting the Sharks fans/team outlook of 10 - 15 years ago. Hadn’t won anything despite some good teams and so it became a “the whole NHL is against us” narrative. I love rooting for teams who haven’t won it before with few exceptions (Nashville and SJ can never win it and I’d be totally fine with that) but until this series I would not have minded seeing WPG win the cup (not this year of course). Their fans make it real hard to pull for them though. Lot of whiney nonsensical analyses up there for sure.

I read about 90% of the thread as I was copying/pasting. And I read the thread after game 5. Even in game 5 they were whining. They went to the Pete DeBoeur school of complaining. It's funny but it's also ridiculous. Complaining about officiating in the NHL is a waste of oxygen. It's never going to be consistent.

I think tomorrow the refs will mostly stay out of the way. I don't have any real evidence to prove this but my belief is game 7s the refs mostly eat the whistle unless it's brutal head contact, high stick to face or puck over the glass. I expect each team to have 2-3 PPs at most. We clearly need to stay out of the box.

I would feel bad about the Schleife injury (okay not really) if the refs hadn't swallowed their whistles when it comes to embellishment.

Anyone know where I can find stats for the entire series without having to look through each individual game? Mostly interested in amount of penalties called for each side. Neither NHL nor hockeyreference seem to have entire series breakdowns beyond scoring stats.

Been reading their board as well as watching their fans YouTube channels. It’s amusing, but also brings me back to many of the same concerns and nightmares we lived time after time prior to 2019. I also keep thinking of the playoff roller coaster of the 1999-2000 season as I watch this and the frustration of it being over before it ever started.

We need to stop the dumb penalties. The stupid junk away from the play needs to stop. It’s nearly cost us game six early prior to the three quick goals. Walker and Neighbors both took dumb unnecessary penalties yesterday. Schenn’s was weird, don’t know what to think of the blame there or why the Jets didn’t get one as well. Felt refs overreacted a ton on that one.

Funny you mention 99-00. We were President’s Trophy winners and got bounced in game 7 at home against the 8 seed. Time for some cosmic repayment!!

Been reading their board as well as watching their fans YouTube channels. It’s amusing, but also brings me back to many of the same concerns and nightmares we lived time after time prior to 2019. I also keep thinking of the playoff roller coaster of the 1999-2000 season as I watch this and the frustration of it being over before it ever started.
