It's Been a Fun Ride, Might as Well Keep it Going!!
For those of you posters out there that have stuck with this team all year, who had measured expectations and enjoyed the moment instead of living a life of despair, cheers to you. We get our 2nd shot at do or die hockey this season. Blues had to win that last game of the year to ensure they got in to the playoffs. They rose to the occasion. Tonight, the Blues play for their season lives. Extend that wild ride 1 more game. The Blues get to be the NIGHTMARES. The Blues get a chance to shut up the Winnipeg crybabies 1 more night. The Blues get a chance to make the Presidents Trophy winners that much more nervous in their hopes at a Stanley Cup run. Be the underdog. Embrace the moment.
To the fans going to the game. Be loud and have fun. I wish I was around the area to get to go to a game like this. If the boys provide the spark, fan those flames and keep it going. Make it a night to remember. Win or lose, it's been a hell of a season. Might as well win the whole F'in thing.
Lets Go Blues!!

Zero doubt about that. Still hoarse from game 4 but will give it the best I can.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑02 May 2025 10:17 am For those of you posters out there that have stuck with this team all year, who had measured expectations and enjoyed the moment instead of living a life of despair, cheers to you. Nothing beats these kind of games. Looking forward to tonight!

Nah, think I'll pore over prospect reports and mock drafts instead. While you clowns are cracking your knuckles, squiming in your seats, and yelling at your TVs I'll be dreaming of draft day trades and the thrill of wearing some 18 year old's jersey in 3-4 years. Who knows what wonderful new design that might be!

dude why are you so worried about jersey sales. are you a fanatics ambassador? you trying to get a bonus on your midwest department sales? Do you think Robert Thomas is ugly? Why don't you like selling snuggies? you think about the kids too much.DawgDad wrote: ↑02 May 2025 10:58 am Nah, think I'll pore over prospect reports and mock drafts instead. I'm an old man in my 70s [true], if I walked around the neighborhood here in Georgia in a "Snuggerud" jersey my Neighbours would take me for a stalker or a gang member! No way, they're all armed!callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑02 May 2025 11:03 amdude why are you so worried about jersey sales. are you a fanatics ambassador? you trying to get a bonus on your midwest department sales? Robert Thomas IS ugly, but his girlfriend is HOT!
Yeah, I really do think about kids too much. I've been watching a LOT of hockey this past week and they're ALL kids! I know they're all KIDS because they're all younger than my KIDS! (except for Ryan Suter)."

Some of us are enjoying the moment and remaining objective about the future at the same time. I guarantee the ownership and front office are.DawgDad wrote: ↑02 May 2025 10:58 am Nah, think I'll pore over prospect reports and mock drafts instead. The point is compare this moment, this series to NOT having it! This is fantastic, the stuff Monday Night Miracles are made of!
Win or lose this Blues team is on the map. They have a real team again, a competitive team, a team that can be tweaked and supplemented with emerging prospects, trades, and FA signings [offer sheets? Who saw THAT coming? Two virtually risk-free developed upper half 1st rounders for a handful of lower picks!] They are relevant again, a team that cannot be taken for granted.
The Blues are in the playoffs and that makes all this MUCH more entertaining.
As we sit here I can objectively say the Blues project to be BETTER next season, almost certainly with some prudent off-season moves, barring major injuries to key players. There are no guarantees, not even with high draft choices. There are multiple #1 overall picks whose teams did NOT even make the playoffs this season.

I suppose I have to give them the benefit of the doubt for missing the blue font because it's a Blues site. I get you, Dawg. i don't understand how the doomers don't get this. my favorite part of this season, parayko having a career year, top 5 potentially best defensemen at one point, and some of the posters said we need to trade him away. Their hope is that the team is eternally bad so they can troll the forum and play fantasy hockey.DawgDad wrote: ↑02 May 2025 11:41 amYou somehow think I'm not???Blue Sabbath wrote: ↑02 May 2025 11:18 amSome of us are enjoying the moment and remaining objective about the future at the same time. I'm tired of the continued jabs taken by the supposed 'real Blues fans at supposed 'fake Blues fans'. Your post post with blue font has a tinge of that attitude that we've seen in numerous threads that were nothing more than circle jerks for the 'true believers' of Blues Talk. You admit yourself how much that has transpired could in no way been foreseen. It's like a perfect storm. I wish the gods on here would be satisfied with what they have wrought and allows the mortals to enjoy it guilt free.DawgDad wrote: ↑02 May 2025 11:41 amYou somehow think I'm not???Blue Sabbath wrote: ↑02 May 2025 11:18 amSome of us are enjoying the moment and remaining objective about the future at the same time. No. You are dismissing the trolling that goes on around here, much of which pounds ill-logic beyond all boundaries of civil discourse.Blue Sabbath wrote: ↑02 May 2025 12:22 pmI'm tired of the continued jabs taken by the supposed 'real Blues fans at supposed 'fake Blues fans'. I'm just a fan. Of the Blues. I like watching the Blues games and I like watching the playoffs much better when they participate. By nature I am not a person prone to push narratives or an agenda, such as "Army bad" or "Sky will fall without multiple top draft picks". I'm as much in favor of a #1 overall pick as anyone EXCEPT I do not want to endure losing hockey to get a CHANCE at the #1. Indisputably, NHL games are not played in pursuit of the #1 overall pick otherwise that would go to the Cup winner!
I don't even know why I'd have a beef with you. I'm not seeking to have one. I suspect we both want to see the Blues WIN this series. Just saw an opening to poke some fun.

I don't have a beef with you it's just your post was the last in a long line of similar ones though not vicious as others have been.
I should've commented to those others a couple of weeks ago. They know who they are.
The rest of my post stands. Peace

I apologize, but I quite literally just had a person in another thread say you need to trade Parayko to get a 2C. That's the lunacy that some of these people on this board would entertain. Trading a top 10-15 defensemen in the league, having a career year, for a 33-64 center. EDIT : Yes that 2C could be a guy worthy of being someone else's 1C, but are people trading 1C players for a 30+ Parayko? Seems silly and unreasonable. Especially for one who we would except to be 24-28Blue Sabbath wrote: ↑02 May 2025 13:28 pmMy post has no correlation to doomers. You're lumping people with their own ideas with trolls.
