Who sits tomorrow ?

Post by ramfandan »

Walker didn’t play today ?
So your guess what Oli does for Sunday finale ?
In past years, once Oli wins series in first two games, he tends to lighten up lineup for the finale.
Sure hope he goes all out Sunday got the sweep.
Would be huge to get a sweep on division rival.
Gain 3 games instead of just 1 .

Go fir the kill, Oli !

With the lefty starting pitcher, maybe load upon RH hitters. Walker in RF, Saggese 2B and Baker DH. Maybe give Scott some rest with Noot in CF and Donovan in LF.

Why not give Walker another day off. Things have been ugly for him. He's 18-for-89. He'd have to go 7-for-11, or 12-for-31 just to get his average up to .250.

Maybe reduce his playing time but I'd also tell him you're not going back down. Try to keep him comfortable with the big league club but just take the pressure off.

Yes. If that means more at bats for Saggese.

or Barrero as DH, after Baker is sent down and Barrero brought up.
(sorry, I'm not a big Baker fan)

Fedde's been pounded by quite a few Brewers and they have "Q" on the mound, lineup is going to have trouble w/him.

(Now watch, Fedde throws 6 shutout innings and Cards light up "Q" )

Isn't today's lineup pretty much what I suggested? It makes sense against the LHP today. Go Cards ! SWEEP !

Typical Oli lineup vs. LHP. Not a stretch of the imagination to have Lars and Donovan playing while the rest of the LHB sit.

We usually see these 9 or some sort of 9 that's heavy RHB vs. a LHP.

I'm not sure about that. It seems Scott has been in the lineup quite a bit vs LHP. And recently, Gorman was and Saggese wasn't. This is efficient use of the roster.

Since Saggese was called up we’ve faced 4 LH starters and he’s been in the starting lineup for 3 of them. This will be 4 of 5.
