Maybe they are right on schedule with that expensive equipment thingy. The rest of the plan we will begin to see in 5 years. Challenge will be to stay ahead of Pirates as they move forward.

Cranny what did this organization do before “expensive sophisticated equipment” was a thing?
They had a Kissel, an Oquendo teaching how to play winning baseball
They had Herzog, a LaRussa getting the MOST out of the ML roster winning some games by playing better chess than the other dugout.

They’re stocked with pitching up and down the system, but the development of position players has been behind schedule. The issues with Gorman and Walker were a wake-up call. They realized that they needed some younger guys overseeing the minors instead of older guys like Gary LaRocque.

Four of the top six pitching prospects are currently hurt. None of them are considered by scouts as having Ace potential. I don’t see how they are stocked with pitching prospects. It normally takes 4 very good pitching prospect to equal a decent major league starter due to injuries and high failure rate on pitching prospects to develop into major league starters. They have taken a recent good move in getting the pitching development guy from Seattle. They are renowned for developing pitchers.
