The big money guys needs to deliver much more

Post by Shady »

Contreras and Arenado, Burleson isn't hitting well, right now. But he's being paid "peanuts" relative to Contreras and Arenado.

Arenado has an .840 OPS, he’s doing just fine.

Burleson needs to be in Memphis doing better.

Walker is hitting .245 with like a .660 OPS
That, from your corner OF, sucks

Burleson… failing
Contreras… failing

Thank you for once again confirming your idiocy. Look at Arenado‘s OPS and then post again please

Nado with the 143 OPS* is just fine.
Contreras needs to get hot.
Burleson needs to sell insurance. When was his last HR? Maybe August of '24?

He’s the guy everyone wants up late in the game, in clutch RBI spots, and versus rough righties. I heard the TV guys say that.

Yep, been nice if Contreras was hitting there instead of Burleson, Not. If you are going to slight Burleson, please address your $18 man, Contreras', return on investment. lol

His 143 OPS+ pretty much does put him in the not-quite-elite tier... same as his present day salary compared to the elite present day salaries. If he finishes the season with a 140 OPS+ he'll be a 5-6 bWAR player. Suffice to say, he's earning his money with roughly 1/8 of the season gone.

That aside, the Cardinals aren't paying him "33/34 million," why not at least try to be accurate in what the guy costs if you're going to bring up the peanuts Burly is making?

"Contreras needs to get hot" Brilliant Frenchy, I'll suggest, Burleson also nneeds to get hot. You can't seem to conceptualize the expectations for 33/34 M and 18 M salaries compared to the relative "peanuts" Burleson makes as a MLB player. You are quite narrow-minded.

What boggles my mind is how the Cardinals have 5th best OPS in MLB yet get constant criticism by some on lack of hitting.
Batting avg. is 2nd best… .272
Some are never satisfied.

Arenaso is hitting and fielding well. Keep up. Contreras has a track record and has earned leeway while he works through his issues. Burleson is a one tool guy whose one tool is nothing special. Before this season Burleson was a special "bat to ball" guy who could hit "stout right handers" or "crafty lefties,". Now you're trying to spin him as a tremendous value. Bloom is probably scratching his head wondering why Oli is so infatuated with him while Mo does not intervene.

The team is paying Nado $27 million in 2025. Drops to $22 million in 2026. You'd of never made it as an attorney where it's important to get your facts straight!
