Pekarcik
Just won the game in double OT 4-3 over the Baie Comeau Drakkar Noir. Scored the opening goal and added an assist, had many chances to win the game before he actually won it. Desnoyers 1+2 and Pekarcik 2+1, three goals together. Someone the other day asked about prospects on the horizon, this one has had a very nice year and should be in Springfield next year. Has 6G 6A in 9 games so far in the playoffs, his team is now up 3-1 in round 2.

Thanks for sharing.
A few months ago I took at look at upcoming draft prospects (thinking we might be picking top-10), and Desnoyers was the guy I wanted. Assuming he's still in that top category, I assume there's no way we could get him at this point.

Re: Pekarcik
Dvorsky and Pekarcik on the same line...opposing teams won't be able to cover/understand what they're saying, planning to do.

Desnoyers was the guy I was focusing on as well but yeah, he could go top-5 now. The Blues won’t be drafting him now but I think he’s going to have a great NHL career.

Re: Pekarcik
Desnoyers is coveted at this point. I could see Montreal even trying to trade both of their firsts to move up to get him (don't think that will happen this year the way the tiers fall off in the first round). The Blues will either pick 18 on their own, 19 because Ottawa loses tonight in regulation and keeps its pick, 18 a different way (if they finish 19 but Ottawa vacates its pick as is a real possibility), or they will give us incredible joy and win at least two rounds and the pick will change (become 29-32, awesome!). If MTL is picking the two slots right in front of us I am skeptical they will pass on Justin Carbonneau twice and at the moment I think he would be a great Blues pick in the middle of the first.
Pekarcik probably won't be done with his postseason before Springfield is so it'll be camp / Springfield for him next year but he is like Toropchenko with more scoring ability. Big and fast & some physicality to it, it's not out there looking for hits but neither is it shying away and he goes to the front of the net quite a bit to post up in front of the goalie for chances, he can hurt you in tight near the net.

Pekarcik is a player. He's not going to be a superstar, but he'll contribute. Exciting to see his progression. Probably one of the less publicized prospects, but one I'm looking forward to.

No hes probably not star caliber but like Stenberg, Pekarcik can be another productive piece to add to the puzzle. Lets see what he can do in the A first i expect him to eventually be a top 9 winger, size, speed, skill, can check, sound familar?John Cocktoastin wrote: ↑17 Apr 2025 13:46 pm Pekarcik is a player. At the Blues rookie camp right after the draft in 2023, Tim Taylor, I believe, of the Blues was being interviewed about the young prospects at camp. I'll always remember his saying that he didn't like to mention any prospect by name but would speak in general terms of the "pool" of prospects.John Cocktoastin wrote: ↑17 Apr 2025 13:46 pm Pekarcik is a player. Then in the same interview he mentioned Pekarcik by name three times. He was all but gushing over the guy.I thought that spoke volumes of his (the Blues) assessment of him. It was like, yeah we really found a jewel in the 3rd round. I'm really interested in seeing how this player develops!

Absolutely!! And I believe the ownership's trust of the Blues scouting department & front office was a reason to stay the course & not tear the whole team down & not do a "rebuild."Harry S Deals wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 12:39 pmI have the utmost faith in Tim Taylor and his crew the Blues prospects have consistently outperformed expectations and draft positionsstlblues1979 wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 12:35 pmAt the Blues rookie camp right after the draft in 2023, Tim Taylor, I believe, of the Blues was being interviewed about the young prospects at camp. Re: Pekarcik
Last night while we were otherwise occupied Pekarcik was first star of the game with 1 goal 2 assists in a 4-3 OT win that advanced his team to the Q Finals. Nifty play from behind the net to Denoyers who buried it, second assist was a by product of him bombing a couple shots and a rebound, the goal was a breakaway and put them up 3-2.
Not going to make a thread about it but McIsaac with a goal and two primary assists last night to help put Spokane up 3 games to 0 on the brink of meeting Medicine Hat in the W Finals
