In 2019…I’ll always remember…after the Blues lost game 6 at home when the City was ready to erupt in celebration only to realize they had to go back to Boston for game 7…he said during an interview…if someone said to us in December…when we were dead last…that I’m going to give you (1) game to win the Cup…every man in that locker room would have taken it. Fast forward to Monty after the Seattle OT loss…if someone would have told us before the 4 Nation Tournament I’m going to give you (1) game to win to get into the playoffs…everyone of us would have taken it. We know how a veteran led 2019 team responded to the savvy quote of the Chief…now we get to see if Monty can calm the nerves of a much younger team and if they buy into the wisdom of his own very similar and very true quote. Just to have the opportunity from where both teams were should calm the nerves and inspire them to take advantage of the moment. Both teams were dead in the water…to have an opportunity to win a game and control your destiny after being where they both were really should calm their nerves and inspire them to play loose and lay it on the line because they had nothing to lose to begin with but everything to gain from playing in such a game. Go Blues…go get it done!
