Contreras 21 Ks in 42 ABs
That's exactly a half as many strikeouts per at bat
Currently on pace to shatter Mark Reynolds record for strikeouts in a season set at 223

His brother is batting .097 with 8 K' going into today. Maybe something off with the Contreras' family approach to hitting this season.

He needs to sit a day or two.
Everybody but the manager can see it.

I think Oli has been generally okay so far this year, not much for me to complain about really, aside from some of the things he's always going to do that get on my nerves, but I just have to accept that he's going to do them.
That said, maybe it's time to move him out of the #2 spot in the order for a while. I get sticking with your guy for the first few series or so, but he has hit there every single game. It's clear something is off right now, so there's no reason to keep him in such an important spot in the lineup right now. This offense has been playing extremely well, so surely there has to be another player who can hit there instead.
And I love Contreras, but just being honest.

It was time to move WC down in the order when started stringing together multiple-strikeout games. Makes no sense hurting the team's scoring chances for one struggling player, no matter how large the contract is.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025 19:34 pm I think Ali has been generally okay so far this year, not much for me to complain about really, aside from some of the things he's always going to do that get on my nerves, but I just have to accept that he's going to do them.

He's been horrible. Awful. But this is our 11th game. Probably needs a day or two. I can't believe he won't come around and come around with a vengeance.vegascardsfan5890 wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025 19:04 pm That's exactly a half as many strikeouts per at bat

Winn has picked it up.
Stick him in the two spot and drop Contreras down to 6th after sitting him tomorrow and then the off day Thursday.

Good plan. He is really fouled up right now.11WSChamps wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025 19:48 pm Winn has picked it up.

Eh, this game 11. I think you give some latitude at this point in the season. Look at Winn. They stuck with him for the first few games and he’s been much better lately. But I’d say we’ve seen enough for now, so there’s really not much excuse for not moving him down.

Winn is a bad example. You can't bat lower than 9th.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025 19:51 pm Eh, this game 11. I think you give some latitude at this point in the season. Look at Winn. I’m not sold on moving Winn there. He struggled batting leadoff last year. He’s not shown the ability to be a big OBP guy. He’s also coming around batting 9th. I think you leave him there.11WSChamps wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025 19:48 pm Winn has picked it up.

He needs a torpedo bat, a boat oar, or something?
He’s obviously pressing and I don’t think Oli is helping by keeping him in the #2 or #3 spot.
Making it worse knowing he is a rally killer!
