Who are the projected superstars on this team?
With your hopeful lenses on, who in your opinion can become a stalwart on this team?
Nootbaar looks like he can be a very good player over the next 3 years if he can remain healthy. Superstar probably not, but dang good.
VSII has a chance to be a fantastic player all round. If he can continue to stroke doubles and hr's from time to time, and get OB steal bags, he could ascend.
Hererra, if he can remain health like Noot (AND) switches position he looks like he could be a really good hitter for this team.
Just curious who you think can blossom into a superstar(ish) type player over the next season or so....
IMO it doesn't look like they are going to trade for Kyle Tuckers, Sign Bregmans or Soto's etc... It'll need to come internal.

"Superstars"?
No one at that level on this roster, hopefully one is down below.

Re: Who are the projected superstars on this team?
Masyn Winn is your best player. But he's not a superstar

Agree with this agreement. I see some solid players but superstars? Nah.
But then again how many superstars are really on MLB rosters? 1% of the active players?
Re: Who are the projected superstars on this team?
Overused term and quite subjective ... I think of top players as 'stars' .. the term 'superstar' (IMO) are reserved for an elite few Albert Pujohs, rockondlouie wrote: ↑07 Apr 2025 08:56 am "Superstars"?

Stan Musial come to mind for the Cardinals .. all-time greats in baseball history are ones I think of as 'superstars'
As for current Cardinals , I don't see any 'superstarts' currently but as for 'stars' Jordan Walker has the hitting skill talent to possibly crack the 'star' status. Again , the terms are subjective for sure.

Re: Who are the projected superstars on this team?
If we're talking about guys on the Judge, Ohtani, Soto level--none. But I do think we've got some stars. I define "stars" as someone who could be a multi-time allstar. To me, I think Herrera has that potential. Walker could. If healthy, Nootbaar could. I think Scott has an outside chance if he can learn to slug a little more, or just fully lean into being a speed demon.

Walker has a chance to be very good…
That’s about it..

Agree that the term “super star” is very subjective.
How about any players who will make an All Star team. Once? Twice? More times?

Re: Who are the projected superstars on this team?
Walker is the only one I think has a chance to become a super star if he unlocks his power. Other than that Noot Winn Herrera and Scott have the potential to be all stars if Herrera could develop into an average catcher he would be a superstar catcher because his bat at catcher would be superstar level if he’s just a DH or 1st baseman it won’t be though
Re: Who are the projected superstars on this team?
Superstars? Probably none right now.
Stars? Walker has a chance to be very good. Wetherholt has a chance to be very good. Herrera could be a great hitter, but I’m not sure about the defense. With the way Scott can run and play defense, if he could put up a .700-.750 OPS he’s a very good player. Winn is the same way. Gorman if he could hit with consistency has the power to be great. He has to be healthy though.
But again, I don’t see any superstars. I do see a core there that could be good if they can get some pitching.

None. That's part of the problem. For the success of the team and fan excitement, they really need a Superstar.Alex Reyes Cy Young wrote: ↑07 Apr 2025 08:38 am With your hopeful lenses on, who in your opinion can become a stalwart on this team?

There just isn't anyone on this roster that will fit the bill.
