Academy award winner for animated film. Now streaming on Max
Characters (realistic animals, primarily a kitten) are drawn realistic; No humans, and no dialogue. Sounds boring, right?
Well, no. It follows the journeys of a expanding group of animals during a natural calamity, a great flood. You never know the cause or reason of the flood; was it filling a man-made lake? A tsunami? Splash from a comet striking the earth? And where are all the people, or their bodies?
The scenes and motion views remind me of the cinematography of the film 1917. The discourse between the animals, like that of the French film The Bear. It is wonderful film to view, and compelling, since you’re trying to see what happens next and how are the animals going to escape their fates?
This is not a film for young children, not a Disney cartoon. Watch it, and you may be hooked after the first few minutes.
