I don’t want to win every game until the playoffs
We have seen streaks before playoffs and teams look invincible. They then lose a game and they fall apart bc they face adversity for the first time in a long time.
We don’t want this. I’m telling you.
Play your game. Play solid.
Learn to recover and regain momentum.

I agree. There's a point to just being vanity. I would like to play really good hockey down the stretch, get into the playoffs, and have our players healthy and hungry. I don't want to burn them out with a streak.
I would like to see Snuggerud and Dvo get some meaningful time once we are in control.

Re: I don’t want to win every game until the playoffs
Every game is played to win but of course the Blues will start rotating players our for some rest after they clinch a playoff spot, and they might dial down the physicality depending on their opponent. They likely won't want to dial down the pace of play because that can be hard to get back up to speed with everyone in sync.

They have to play anyways
Might as well play to win.

Re: I don’t want to win every game until the playoffs
I think we'll have to win at least a couple of the remaining games in order to qualify for the playoffs, but other than that as long as we're playing our style of game and playing with passion, I'll be satisfied
Re: I don’t want to win every game until the playoffs
We need to win the games we should win, DET, PIT, UHC, and SEA. Too many games in hand for CAL to take your foot off and lose 2 of those. Then you have COL who will DEFINITELY be up for that game, hope you can catch WPG napping. and EDM is a coin toss. If we lose 4 of the last 7, do we make the dance?

There's a lot of hockey left guys.
Let's just get in first and then start with how to behave.

Yeah we are no where near being in that comfortable of a position, we need to win every game possible.
Re: I don’t want to win every game until the playoffs
The streak has dug them out of the hole they were in after a near disastrous start to the season. The playoff race is really just starting from the standpoint of all four team vying for two spots being close to even, within four points.
There are three games today and tomorrow that could jumble the race, Minnesota, Vancouver and Calgary all play before the Blues take on Detroit Tuesday. Need to look at this backwards, each loss drops two points off the team's max points total for the season. Lots of scoreboard watching, and the hockey has been pretty good. Boy, it would be nice to see all three lose!

They need to keep playing exactly how they are playing. This is still an extremely tight playoff race. Playing a certain style with a high compete level needs to be the norm. Any other thinking would be odd. Nobody should be taking their foot off the gas as we head into april.
As fans we might think that stumbling a time or two would be better, but no one who competes can afford to think like that. You play the game a certain way and you make it a habit.

This team will lose at some point. I think they have resiliency to handle adversity.
When the plane couldn't take off after a road game, the boys had to fly in the same day as the game. Monty said that it was a good thing because he wanted to see how they reacted to a little adversity.

I'd say the nucks are in big trouble if they lose today.DawgDad wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 14:20 pmThe streak has dug them out of the hole they were in after a near disastrous start to the season. A loss today puts the canucks at 97 max out. pretty much couldn't lose the rest of the way to have a legitimate chance, and because of their schedule i think they're basically sunk already.
Re: I don’t want to win every game until the playoffs
Yeah, a couple more losses by Vancouver and Calgary and both of those teams are pretty much toast

I like the thought process espoused in this post.b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 14:35 pm They need to keep playing exactly how they are playing. This is still an extremely tight playoff race.
