Blues now tied with Minny with 87 points. Minny still has 1 game in hand.

Dream scenario, Blues make playoffs, as top wild card.
Beat Vegas in round 1. Then beat Edmonton in round 2. Would just be amazing to get in and have a run with this young group.

The Wild have been bad lately. No offense without Kaprisov and Eriksson-Ek. The Blues have a legit shot of catching them. That said, I’m not sure that’s necessarily a good thing. It’s close but I think I’d prefer to face Winnipeg than Vegas. I just don’t believe in Helebuyck in the playoffs. Vegas is built for the playoffs.

But as of today, the Blues could beat anyone. Not saying they would or would even be favored…but it’s possible. This team is dialed in and a wagon.

Playoffs are ultimately just small sample sizes and i think peolle read too much into a bad series and writing players off as bad playoff performers when its just a random bad stretch at an inopportune time.

Did helly get roughed up his last 2 postseasons in 10 games with a .886 and .870 sv% behind poor defensive support? Yes. But prior to that he had a .921 sv% in 35 postseason games across 4 postseasons before that so its notnlike he has a history of choking every postseason. He has much more support now. I wouldnt want to face him in the postseason. Id much rather face adin hill and his hot streak cup run regardless

Normally, I would prefer Winnipeg as well, they don’t seem to get it in the playoffs. But I feel like they are a different team this year. I would like to see them have to battle winner of Dallas and Colorado, while we have Edmonton/LA if we make round 2.

It’s all gravy to me if this team makes the playoffs. In late January, I resigned to thinking they were done.

You are right about Winnipeg MPH, but they are about due. I have to believe that the hockey gods will favor them soon
