Woo article on the new front office heads

Pretty good read on the changes that they are making and the new guys, Rob Cerfolio (A-GM/Director of player development), Larry Day (Farm Director), Carl Kochan (Director of player performance), and Matt Pierpont (Director of pitching).

Love to see it.
Re: Woo article on the new front office heads
I liked the part where Cerfelio said he wants people who will tell him when his idea is a bad one. Pretty sure Mo isn't like that.

I like how Chaim is creating "The Cardinal Academy" (my words) not just "The Cardinal Way".Futuregm2 wrote: ↑26 Mar 2025 10:31 am https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/622936 ... ed_article

They're setting up certain areas of instruction with a specific chain of command and a specific way to instruct and develop.
Re: Woo article on the new front office heads
Can someone please take me into the BDW/MO thinking where they completely destroyed the Kissel Cardinal Way and how or why they thought this was an appropriate route to take for the ST. Louis Cardinals organization??? And now we’re cheering that the Cards are taking steps to regain what was once a decades long constant envied by just about every other organization. For anyone to come on here defend BDW/Mo you have to be void of any rational thoughtwkycards wrote: ↑26 Mar 2025 14:43 pmI like how Chaim is creating "The Cardinal Academy" (my words) not just "The Cardinal Way".Futuregm2 wrote: ↑26 Mar 2025 10:31 am https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/622936 ... ed_article

What a refreshing thought, but He will learn quick this organization doesn’t cotton to creative thinking
It’s BDW way or the highway.
Old man need to retire
Re: Woo article on the new front office heads
Both can be true and are. They made changes in non-baseball player personnel which was needed and they did nothing as far as player movement to try to get better in the future. Cards should have made more deals either veterans for younger players or redundant younger players for other younger players in a position of need. The Cards added non-players to their organization to help long term. The Cards failed to add baseball player talent to help the team long term.

I think the words that you’re looking for are “complacent”, “lazy”, “arrogant”, and “stubborn”.Goldfan wrote: ↑26 Mar 2025 16:19 pmCan someone please take me into the BDW/MO thinking where they completely destroyed the Kissel Cardinal Way and how or why they thought this was an appropriate route to take for the ST. Woo is a baseball expert?
Re: Woo article on the new front office heads
When is Mo gone? Otherwise, he will just trade these developed players away.
Re: Woo article on the new front office heads
BDW has to NOT be involved in any way for this to succeed
I have no doubt he will continue to play with his toy as he is the owner and loves to throw his weight around
Let the baseball men run things BDW
