I understand when pitchers are “working on things” in the spring. Results are not important. But with hitters, are they “working on things” that make them not hit a lick? And the whole lineup? Day after day? Could they get hits if they wanted to?

No one can be optimistic about this version of the Cardinal offense but I'd bet a healthy sum that they'll slash better than 204/314/354.

I'd also believe that Mikolas will end up with an ERA greater than 3.29, which is what it is after today's outing.

Since the Cards had a winning season in 2024, why are they a “laughing stock”, Monsieur?

They came out & had a big press conference announcing they were doing a reset/rebuild & then failed to move a single veteran to clear up any space for any young players. Basically they wasted a year in their rebuild & quite frankly they should've started rebuilding at the end of '23 So they basically wasted 2 offseasons. Honestly the first time I've ever heard of a GM failing to sell off veterans.
