Sorry for the repost, but this stupid forum structure doesn't allow for edits after a few minutes.
From today's Hollywood Reporter: "Teri Garr, the Oscar-nominated actress who capitalized on her adorable flightiness in such films as Tootsie and Young Frankenstein before her career was derailed by multiple sclerosis, died Tuesday. She was 79.
Garr, who started out as a background dancer working alongside Elvis Presley in several 1960s party films, died in Los Angeles “surrounded by family and friends,” publicist Heidi Schaeffer said.
Garr revealed that she had MS, the chronic, degenerative disease of the nervous system, on Larry King’s CNN show in October 2002, and she survived emergency surgery to treat a brain aneurysm four years later. Her final onscreen appearance came in 2011."

She was also very funny in Mr. Mom with Michael Keaton. She started her career as a dancer, appearing in 9 Elvis films.

I did not know she was in the Elvis films.edwin drood wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024 15:25 pm She was also very funny in Mr. Mom with Michael Keaton. She started her career as a dancer, appearing in 9 Elvis films.
I did know that she was on a Star Trek (TOS) episode. "Assignment: Earth"
I did not know that her first feature film speaking part was in the Monkees' "Head".
Mr. Mom is still a fave ... Written by John Hughes using his real life experiences while working in advertising.

Igor, would you give me a hand with the bags?
Certainly. You take the blonde and I'll take the one in the turban.

The actual line, uttered by Gene Wilder in awe of a castle door's construction, was "What knockers!!".
My favorite Teri Garr lines in "Young Frankenstein" were "Poot......zee candle......BOCK!", and "He's going to have an enormous vonschtuker. Whooof!!".

When I finally, at long last, saw the original 1931 "Frankenstein" horror movie in a theater ten years ago, I couldn't help but suppress laughs knowing how Mel Brooks so brilliantly satirized it during what should have been very tense or scary scenes.
