Anatomy Of A Fall (French)

Post by MikoTython »

Viewed this last week, and it left quite an impression. Its a rather intense, dramatic & cerebral presentation of narrative, especially competing narratives very ably presented, bearing upon 'what happened' when something 'bad' happened sans witness, and also - the nature of difficult challenging relationships, under duress. All the acting is absolutely first-rate.

The central character, in at least the cursory sense, was the wife, played by Sandra Huller, who also played the harridantic, casually cruel, black comically self-centered wife of the commandant in 'Zone Of Interest'- the recent brilliant fresh take on the old chestnut about the banality of evil.

This film is also brilliant, won last years' Palme d'Or at Cannes. But is intense, a bit of a slog. I actually took it in two doses. Not for everyone, not for everyone who frequents this forum. But will be for some.
