Frank Fritz

Post by edwin drood »

Former co-star of the History Channel's American Pickers, Frank Fritz, died Monday night at age 60. He suffered a stroke in 2022 and had been in an assisted living center since. I'm not much into reality TV but enjoy Pickers and their digging through old barns, sheds and basements and buying petroliana, old motorcycles, cars and other assorted junk. R. I. P.

It is always easy to fall down the rabbit hole with that show. And while I know so much of it is staged - as is the case with all shows of the ilk - it's such a guilty pleasure. My daughter and her friend visited their Nashville location a few years back right after it opened.

I was sad when I saw this, I liked Frank a lot, and their banter back and forth really made the show fun. I saw Mike in Nashville once at brunch a few years back. Frank always seemed more "real", if that makes sense. I was a little disappointed in their store in Nashville, it just isn't that big and the layout wasn't great, but it has been a few years since I have been there. Actually, probably like 10 years, woah, and I live down here! ha

Definitely some staged parts, if not most of it, but not quite as bad as Pawn Stars. Is that show still on? Storage Wars was another one that got called out for being staged (and buying boobs for Brandi), but I guess that one is off the air now too? It used to be on ALL THE TIME.
Sorry, a bit off-topic. Anyways, RIP FF!

Ya know, Ed... I've been trying, without any success by the way, to imagine a universe where any single sentient being would be even remotely interested in the opinions of such a cretinous putz such as you.
