There was always talks about a spinoff. If I had to guess, Ted is a cameo characterMultiple trade outlets have reported that Warner Bros. Television is taking steps to continue the hit Apple TV+ series after the Season 3 finale left the fate of the show uncertain.
According to Deadline, which was first to report the news, Warner Bros. Television has picked up the options on three main cast members represented by U.K. performers union Equity: Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Walton), Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins) and Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent).
Representatives for Warner Bros. Television, Apple TV+ and several cast members did not immediately respond Sunday to requests for comment.
Up next, the studio is reportedly expected to approach actors represented by U.S. performers union SAG-AFTRA, including Juno Temple (Keeley Jones), Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) and Ted Lasso himself, Jason Sudeikis.

I was pretty surprised when I saw the announcement. They wrapped up all the storylines pretty neatly and put things in motion for a spin-off (or two).
So what exactly is the plan here? What would a season 4 storyline look like? Absolutely love the show so I really hope this isn't going to kill it.

I think two mistakes might be made here. The first one was to end it after only 3 seasons, it easily had a couple more in it, then the second might be to try and start it up again.FrankTheTank wrote: ↑26 Aug 2024 12:07 pm I was pretty surprised when I saw the announcement. This might be cool, or it could go really, really bad. Season 3 was already showing a deterioration in the show's quality (the whole Zava storyline was contrived and idiotic), I think they ended it just before it was gonna have a truly bad season.

I love Ted Lasso season one and two, but I stopped watching during 3.
Will not watch a fourth season. I have to make a separate subscription to that streaming service whichever one it was, so it’s not worth it.

I'm not typically one to encourage more subscriptions, but just fyi Apple TV has some of the best shows. In addition to Ted Lasso the following are some of the best shows I've seen in the last decade:GelatinousEndive wrote: ↑31 Aug 2024 23:05 pmI love Ted Lasso season one and two, but I stopped watching during 3.

Yes, this...and compared to others AppleTV is affordable at least (but I am NOT telling anyone what to do with their money). Shrinking is such a good show. Also, add Bad Monkey to the list. I'll throw in 'Silo', 'Foundation', 'For All Mankind, 'Monarch', 'Servant', 'Slow Horses' and a seconding for 'Pachinko'. A lot of good series with elevated levels of production design.FrankTheTank wrote: ↑03 Sep 2024 10:43 amYes, this...and compared to others AppleTV is affordable at least (but I am NOT telling anyone what to do with their money). And don't forget the recent addition of the Director's Cut version of Ridley Scott's 'Napoleon'! (Okay, maybe we can look past that one).

As for other shows on Apple TV, my girlfriend and I just finished Black Bird, we both really enjoyed it. And are three episodes into Presumed Innocent and we're loving this one, too!

Speaking of Pachinko, wife and I are caught up on S2 (4 eps so far) and it is pretty fantastic. It's just a beautiful multi-generational story told extremely well.todd-parker wrote: ↑03 Sep 2024 13:24 pmI'll throw in 'Silo', 'Foundation', 'For All Mankind, 'Monarch', 'Servant', 'Slow Horses' and a seconding for 'Pachinko'.
