Rolling Stones final show of tour in the Ozarks
When the Rolling Stones close out their North American "Hackney Diamonds" tour on July 21, their concert venue will be a far cry from the bustling cities they have visited on the road.
The rockers will perform in Ridgedale, Missouri, with a population of less than a thousand, taking to the stage at the picturesque Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in the middle of the Ozark mountains.

Sounds like they needed a vacation in Branson, maybe take in some Yakov Smirnoff...Uncle John wrote: ↑13 Jul 2024 16:30 pm When the Rolling Stones close out their North American "Hackney Diamonds" tour on July 21, their concert venue will be a far cry from the bustling cities they have visited on the road.

Are the Ozark Mountain Daredevils the opening act?

Will Yakov only sing , or will he also shred on the balalaika?George Zipp wrote: ↑14 Jul 2024 09:05 amNo, Yakov Smirniov is doing 20 minutes of his greatest hits.
And then he's going to join the Boys on Let it Bleed.
It's the sole reason the ticket prices are so outrageous.

This is not exactly Times Beach. It's a 20,000-capacity amphitheater overlooking Table Rock Lake.

When I visited the 9/11 Ground Zero site on Easter 2003 I was startled to see Yakov Smirnoff was behind the making of that amazing, huge mural of a heart-shaped American flag over the Statue of Liberty right across the street.George Zipp wrote: ↑14 Jul 2024 09:05 amNo, Yakov Smirniov is doing 20 minutes of his greatest hits.

Video and pix I have seen of it are impressive. For the right kind of show, I would love to see a concert there.Pink Freud wrote: ↑14 Jul 2024 14:54 pm This is not exactly Times Beach. It's a 20,000-capacity amphitheater overlooking Table Rock Lake.
Have you been there?

I saw this headline a few days ago, and I thought it was a d..a..m..n joke. The Rolling Stones, performing in Bumf**k MO? i’ve never heard of this place where they’re performing.
I really wrestled with it and then decided not to go. I’m too old for amphitheater experiences. I’d have to drive three hours there and then probably wait two hours to exit the parking lot when the show is over.
The cost of top-tier tickets for this event is trivial compared to what I’m willing to spend.
I was all heated up about taking the train to Chicago, buying the best seats, staying in a hotel for their two shows at Soldier Field. Unfortunately I had a conflict and could not attend.
The lower Missouri experience just doesn’t track for me. I guess I’ll have to see Mick and the boys the next time around although my friends tell me I should wait for a European tour next year

You are really rolling those tumbling dice of you are banking on next time around. That’s exactly why I went to Chicago. Mick is in great shape but he’s 80. Keith should have died 45 yrs ago. We are at the point where it’s legit to ask if this is it.GelatinousEndive wrote: ↑18 Jul 2024 11:57 am I saw this headline a few days ago, and I thought it was a d..a..m..n joke. I know nothing of the shed in Branson where this is but I’m guessing it’s 15-20k capacity. Beats the hell out of a stadium. And sureLy they have a VIP parking lot with easy in and out.

I looked at tickets and they were way overpriced. It looks like a nice venue, but I have heard that it is a nightmare to get into and out of due to limited access, even worse than Riverport.

I went the show was awesome and the venue is outstanding. We were stuck in a lot of traffic getting in but less than a hour. We parked far away very long walk but we don’t mind walking, and we were ok were out faster than Riverport. I highly recommend going to a concert there, I imagine it is the best outdoor venue in the Midwest, way better than stadiums and much bigger stage and better view from lawn than Riverport. The Stones still sound great and Mixk moves around like a healthy 40 or 50 year old. Apparently he is a exercise and health food fanatic.

Saw the Stones when they came through St Louis on the last tour, they never disappoint. Easily one of the best live bands around.3 Sport Town wrote: ↑24 Jul 2024 20:53 pmI went the show was awesome and the venue is outstanding. Thanks for the venue review! That's great news that the view of the stage at Thunder Ridge is much better than at Riverport. The view of the stage at Riverport sucks unless you're in the first 10 rows center.3 Sport Town wrote: ↑24 Jul 2024 20:53 pmI went the show was awesome and the venue is outstanding. Happy 81st Birthday, Mick Jagger!!! Hard to believe he's still performing live at the same level like he did 30 years ago.
Mick mentions the Rolling Stones show at the Kiel Auditorium on July 12, 1966 in this video.
