Nice breakdown Walter.
I think for awhile some of us thought Thomas was better suited as a 2c. His ppg production over the years has earned him the 1c spot. It's hard enough finding a 2c. They better keep Thomas right where he's at for now. DD might take a while.

And why don’t you put Stankoven above him?
He’s the leading scorer for a conference final bound team.

Then I guess I didn't understand what you meant. Can you name a player that requested STL?ShakeyWalton wrote: ↑13 May 2026 22:10 pmThat’s clearly not requesting to play there. They signed FA contracts as aging vets.TAFKAP wrote: ↑13 May 2026 19:54 pmBoth Perron and Tarasenko signed as free agents.ShakeyWalton wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:45 pmI don't think in all the years Ottawa has had a team, I have ever heard someone requesting to play there. Pretty crazy when you think about it.bluetunehead wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:38 pmNah he's from Toronto. He'd have to want to go to Ottawa for whatever reason. Probably not high on his list.George Zipp wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:35 pm Does Kyrou have family or a lady in Ottawa? If not I can't imagine he's waiving to go pay those taxes living there.

Yep, one played the entire season, and the other decided he’d turn it on when it sounded like he was going to get traded. I know which one I’d rather have. and it’s not the one who put up a bunch of points and garbage time when the season was over for his team.BleedingBleu wrote: ↑15 May 2026 03:00 amRollin' on the River wrote: ↑14 May 2026 19:48 pm

You are cherry-picking and peddling half-truths. The season prior Thomas' late push landed the Blues in the playoffs. Last season he was hurt early missing a bunch of games. Fair is fair, and you sir are not.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑15 May 2026 08:34 amYep, one played the entire season, and the other decided he’d turn it on when it sounded like he was going to get traded. So to recap you'd rather have a guy who "played" the entire season and only ended up with 44 points on a team that blew the doors off St Louis as far as overall roster talent?Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑15 May 2026 08:34 amYep, one played the entire season, and the other decided he’d turn it on when it sounded like he was going to get traded. Amazing rationale isn't it. But coming from the guy who thinks the jury is still out on Broberg & Holloway, what's to be expected.Walter Sobchak00 wrote: ↑15 May 2026 09:19 amSo to recap you'd rather have a guy who "played" the entire season and only ended up with 44 points on a team that blew the doors off St Louis as far as overall roster talent?Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑15 May 2026 08:34 amYep, one played the entire season, and the other decided he’d turn it on when it sounded like he was going to get traded. It’s ok to acknowledge that. Even Armstrong said we value Thomas more than everyone else
Tampa? I'll give you Point but Thomas and him are very close. Thomas is better than Cirelli
And again - your claim was Thomas is a 2c on the most teams. Shocker you can't name those teams...
I disagree on Cirelli.
and I already NAMED the teams last week.
I mean looking at line combos, he’s easily a 2C on a lot of teams. He’d be a winger on Buffalo. He’s not better than Tage Thompson, Konsta Helenius, or Josh Norris.
Carolina he’s a winger or doesn’t even make the team.
Colorado-AHL or wing
Dallas 3C or wing
Florida-AHL or wing
Devils 3C
Islanders 3C
Rangers 3C or Wing
Ottawa 3C or Wing
Philadelphia 3C
SJ-AHL or Wing
Toronto 3C or Wing
VGK- AHL
Wash-Wing
mean looking at line combos, he’s easily a 2C on a lot of teams. He’d be a winger on Buffalo. He’s not better than Tage Thompson, Konsta Helenius - Has played 9 career games with 4 points. or Josh Norris - Has never been a point per game player
Carolina: Thomas is a #2 C and #1 some nights
Colorado- He's #2 ahead of Nelson at his age.
Dallas Thomas is their #1 C Wyatt Johnson isn't the defensive C and scores a lot on the PP not a 5v5 #1 C. Hintz has never been a point per game player.
Florida- He's their #2 C none of Florida's C's number compare to Thomas other than Barkov
Devils Thomas is a #2 C. Hischier has never been a point per game player
Islanders Thomas is their #1 C and they are moving either Horvat or Barzal to the wing.. Barzal has played primarily as a W for years now.
Rangers Thomas is their #1 C and they are moving Miller or Z to the wing.. Miller has had 2 good seasons and made a career out of it.
Ottawa #1 C as Stutzle can't match up against another teams top line. Neither Cozens or Pinto have come close to a point per game pace.
Philadelphia #1 C he's way ahead of anyone on the Flyers Zegras has played primarily wing and hasn't ever sniffed a point per game and is terrible defensively. Dvorak has a career high 51 points..
SJ-He's their #2 C.. he's leaps and bounds ahead of Misa and Smith (who was moved to W).
Toronto #2.. way ahead of JT at this point in his career
VGK- #2 C Hertl just ended a 23 game goalless streak and was never good defensively.
Wash- #1 C and its not even close. Strome has had 1 point per game season and that was an outlier compared to the rest of his career.
The only thing you are basing your comments on must be "I don't like Thomas"

Re: Kyrou trade speculation to ottawa
Think of it this way, and forget Thomas. He is basically saying this. Let's say it is McDavid, and he gets hurt and only was able to play 60 games. He did put up 90 points during those 60 games. He would choose the lesser player who played all 82 games with 44 pts, over McDavid. You can't be serious?Walter Sobchak00 wrote: ↑15 May 2026 09:19 amSo to recap you'd rather have a guy who "played" the entire season and only ended up with 44 points on a team that blew the doors off St Louis as far as overall roster talent?Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑15 May 2026 08:34 amYep, one played the entire season, and the other decided he’d turn it on when it sounded like he was going to get traded.
