Not enough stars to go around and they'll still be getting better offers from the teams pushing the ceiling rather than the teams at the floor.

Younger players are making more money than they ever have in cap leagues.

Hell, they won't even pay their regular company employee's decent wages and that's pocket change compared to baseball players. Guy's like Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg, Ellison etc etc made their billions by abusing the system. That they won't spring for top talent and appropriate wages or salaries is built into the system. They don't consider it being a flaw to capitalism they consider it to be a feature.
