True. Makes you wonder why they only won 83 games that season, doesn’t it?
Injuries to key players. Comparing this ragtag bunch to 2006 is asinine.
Cranny knows that.
He isn’t dumb.
Just disingenuous- that’s my read after digesting his responses (or lack thereof) to my direct questions.
Sad!
I believe I answered your questions, Satch.
The question he asked was: How would you, as a fan, suggest expressing displeasure over the last few years of the Cardinal product?

Not "What are some methods others have utilized to express themselves on the subject?"...which is all you offered up.
He’ll never give an answer. Ever.
1.) I’d write a letter to BDW expressing my displeasure. Tell him that Mo’s bad moves and smug public personality has devalued his asset. And that my family has been huge Cardinal fans for multiple generations.
2.) I’d call in to sports radio talk shows expressing my displeasure.
3.) I’d swamp social media with comments of displeasure
4.) I’d write regular letters to the Post Dispatch that would hopefully be published in the letters section.
5.) I’d stop watching games, which would show up in a small way in surveys on percentage of TV sets tuned in to Cardinal names.
6.) I’d organize demonstrations to parade up and down outside the Cardinals offices downtown. Which would have enough local interest to be covered by the local TV media.

Happy?

The only legitimate response is a MAJOR decline in ticket sales in 2026. The pocketbook is the only message that this smug ownership will comprehend.

So it’s OK to “stop watching games,” but not OK to stop attending games?

And I’m sure BDWJr will take your stern letters very seriously as you simultaneously renew your tickets for next year.

In a nutshell: only express your displeasure in ways that have no real immediate financial consequences for the owner. Yep, that sounds about right . . .

The question is can they do anything to change it? I'm not sure they can unless they get a more fan friendly tv deal so people can watch games as part of the basic package like they used to. Games on tv generates interest and leads to better attendance.

Would winning do it? I'm not sure. They were in contention for a wild card for most of the season and fans weren't showing up.

You know good & well the star players who were injured that season.

That was a 95-100 win team if they're healthy.

So you boycott, and turn your back on the team you love?
Boycott has nothing to do with it. People are naturally more likely to attend any sporting event based on an expectation of quality.
Got it. Stay away from supporting the players on the field
who are working hard trying to win and be a wild card team.
What is your deal Cranny?

The other day you spent an entire thread trying to explain all the reasons that fans are staying away.

Now you’re back to scolding others for not supporting the team financially.

And thanks for letting us know that in your opinion the players are “working hard trying to win and be a wild card”, because at least that statement is funny.

“Through 65 home games, the Cardinals have generated a total attendance of 1,873,875, based on the metric of tickets sold. Right now, that’s an average attendance of around 28,829. If that pace remains similar through the regular season’s end, the Cardinals are on pace for a season attendance of roughly 2,335,137.”
He also explained how this year’s trend would represent a historic low point for the franchise.
“That would mark the team’s lowest for a non-pandemic-restricted season since 1995, when the Cardinals drew a season attendance of 1,756,727. That season? The Cardinals only played 72 home games due to MLB scheduling arrangements out of a players’ strike and would have paced for around 1,976,318 in attendance.”
Not sure why so many people are jumping down your throat. This is interesting info. Thanks.
