It will take a decade to rebuild because the farm system needs so much work.
Bingo!

It's a game of chicken between ownership and the fans.

I think it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Look at the resistance with removing Miles and Fedde from the starting rotation.
How was Mikolas tonight?
Lol. What's his WAR? What's his ERA? What's his record?

How'd he do against the last few teams?

As usual you're barking up the wrong tree cranny.

Positive step toward change
Actually, it’s not supporting the players.
I went Wednesday. [shirt] performance. Overpriced concessions that were clearly left out too long thinking there would be faster turnover with a larger crowd.

If that was my first Cardinal game it would have been my last.

On top of that there are fairly low wages. Let's face it, Missouri isn't a destination that anyone would really want to go to and I say that as a life long Missourian. Pro sports, baseball in general has priced the average American family out of participation. Basically we're Mississippi without the incest. Our once proud state has been subjugated into one of the poorer states in America. It's no surprise that an inferior product will not produce patrons when the expense is ridiculous. Add to that the unwillingness of ownership to upgrade the talent and voila! Here we are.
“Without the incest”???

It seems you have never spent some time in the bootheel.
LOL...I was actually born in the "bootheel". I know it very well and got out as soon as I could. That being said, I'm sure the poorer states have a lot more "problems".
where??
Caruthersville is where I lived. Hayti is where I was born. Left Caruthersville when I was 13 and never looked back. Thankful to be amongst the semi hillbillies.

I agree, but midweek tickets can be had for single digits at times. It's possible to go on a budget -- if you have a reason.
Indeed that would be a big part of it. But to be honest, I enjoy the games much more on my computer screen in the luxury of air conditioning and much cheaper snacks and drinks.

Yep, that’s a real problem. They need a player or two who are interesting enough to overcome that, and right now they just don’t have that.
