Absolutely. The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference. People aren’t “bashing” ownership and management, they’re rightly frustrated about the decline of a once-proud franchise that they love. Could we stick our heads in the sand and say everything is fine? Sure. But that’s not realistic, is it?
Some fans enjoy watching every game during the regular season. Cheering for a win. Others only get enjoyment out of a WS win. The latter are going to be disappointed 90+% of the time. And constantly frustrated. Which are you, rat?
I enjoy watching good baseball, not what we have seen the last couple of years. I'm glad you are a cheerleader.
Didn’t we have more wins than losses last season?
Isn’t that actually pretty good baseball?
Well they had a terrible offense that stunk with RISP. And had an average pitching staff. I’m not sure that’s “good” baseball. I’d say that’s pretty mediocre baseball at best.
Amazing they still had a winning season with all of that, isn’t it futuregm? Maybe if they improve the BA with RISP we’ll have a division winner in 2025.
Sure, I guess. But we finished double digit games back in the division for the 2nd straight season, which was the first time for us since the 90s. The best thing about last year was that it somehow landed us a #5 pick.
Got that right that 10 games out of first was a great season . . . . LOL!
Have you enjoyed World Championships in the 60s, 80s, 2006, and 2011? More than most major league fans across the country, Red?
That’s what I’ll tell my kids. “Kids, they won championships when I was your age, and when your grandpa was your age. It was really cool. They’re not really trying to do that anymore, but hey, they won more games than they lost last year and only finished 10 out in a lousy division. Now eat your nachos, they cost $26.”
Rat, it sounds to me like you should take a little time off from being a Cardinal fan. Maybe come back when they’re playing up to your standards?
Sound like a plan? Who wants to have constant frustration?
Because that’s not the way it works. The Cardinals are one of my life’s great passions. Think of it the way you would think of a member of your family. You may be disappointed in them at times for their poor choices, disappointed at times when they underachieve because you know they can do better, but you always love them and want them to excel because you know they can, not turning a blind eye to their faults.
I want them to excel too. Just like every other fan.
I go into this season with hope, not anguish. Just like every other season before. I’m looking forward to following all the players at both the major league and minor league levels. I’m not obsessed with “Mo-Ran/Bow Tie” or “Dewallet” like many are.

Somebody moved the cheese on BDW and he is lost.

And stubborn.

He and Mo were complicit in HackGate

They deserve their misery

I was in agreement until hackgate. Everyone forgets one big piece of it which kills the idea they were doing it as an organization.
What’s the one big piece?
The story broke as the information which was taken was given to Deadspin who published Luhnow’s notes. Why would the team steal the information then hand over all of Luhnows notes so that Deadspin could publish Luhnow’s notes?
I’m sorry but I don’t understand why handing over notes by Luhnow means Mozeliak and DeWitt didn’t know about the hacking?
Why would they hand over notes to a media outlet exposing the hacking if they were doing it to gain an advantage?

Apparently, a few people believe that when you criticize DeTwit and Mo-ran that means you can't be a frustrated fan...their blind loyalty causes them to argue with anyone on every thread...some people have too much time and must not have any other interests in their lives.
