I’ll stand by the signing of May even IF he flops and/or gets injured.
So no 20/20 hindsight from me!
Another way to look at it:
For basically the same cost in $$ for Gray the Cards got two solid pitching prospects plus May.
Now....none probably figure to match a Gray in performance but moving forward:
*Gray was gone after 2026 due to age/cost anyway.
*We all know May is a health risk but they have zero commitment past 2026 if he flops.
*They’ll get a look at Fitts in 2026. Years of control.
*Clarke already listed as #7 prospect.
I get the angst and frustration but everyone wanted change so give the new guy a chance.
I know he’s been around a few years but has only been in actual control less than two months.
