It's sad that a professional baseball player needs base running coachingCusecards wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:49 pmTeams tend to mimic their leadership when it comes to judgement and fundamentals.slimjay63801 wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:40 pmTo me, its coaching more than anything. Players can "brain fart". Every player is susceptible to a bad decision but this team does it nightly. It's ill preparation and bad coaching IMO.Cusecards wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:32 pm+282birds wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:23 pmwell saidslimjay63801 wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:22 pm Chances to add runs but base running blunders kill the innings. At what point do you look at the coaching or are all these guys just stupid?
Maybe a combination of both???
I can excuse the Manager to an extent as that he has a lot to analyze on the run.
But a base coach????
His SOLE purpose is to direct the baserunner by using JUDGEMENT.
If this team is a collective train wreck on the bases nightly what does that say about their JUDGEMENT?????
Well, they are supposed to listen to the coaches. They are the guidance. It's just toxic. Rebuild the minors and the coaches as well. I agree Scouty, but every team pays 6 figure salaries to these coaches. Clearly, they are important, I guess. I love baseball and always have but I'm just a mere postal worker.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:51 pmIt's sad that a professional baseball player needs base running coachingCusecards wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:49 pmTeams tend to mimic their leadership when it comes to judgement and fundamentals.slimjay63801 wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:40 pmTo me, its coaching more than anything. So you’re saying that the coaches AND players are all mentally soft????scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:51 pmIt's sad that a professional baseball player needs base running coachingCusecards wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:49 pmTeams tend to mimic their leadership when it comes to judgement and fundamentals.slimjay63801 wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:40 pmTo me, its coaching more than anything. I blame the failure to TOOTBLAN for this big inning.slimjay63801 wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:58 pm Very surprising mid inning offensive outburst. Fun game thus far!!!
Look....I’m in no way excusing players for boneheaded baserunning judgement.slimjay63801 wrote: ↑19 Sep 2025 20:54 pmWell, they are supposed to listen to the coaches. They are the guidance.
