I’ll admit here that this is pure speculation. With not much if any evidence to support it. But part of me wonders if Walker has just had enough with this current regime of coaches and front office staff. He’s been mishandled since entering the majors and I wonder if he’s lost all confidence to the point where he is no longer willing to listen/uncoachable to this collection of dumb dumbs. And unless he is traded or there is a complete overhaul of the coaching staff and new beginning of the Bloom era he will just kind of be coasting by while in a Cardinal uniform

I think you may be on to something. Perhaps Walker just does not respect these coaches, and do they really deserve respect? Marmol? Brown? I don't think so. On the other hand, Walker has to perform, and he hasn't. I say goodbye to all three of them.

If Bloom retains Marmol and his coaching staff, that's already strike one on him. Fans are not going to like that. So if he decides to retain Mozeliak's boy, that's a clear signal he'll just be another stooge for BDW. And the stench from Mozeliak will remain.

It’s funny that Ken Hitchcock did so well as a HC in hockey. Throwing players under the bus was a big part of his MO.

I agree that it is a technique that doesn't need to be used.

Oli has been around JW for soon to be 3 seasons. Oli may be dumb as a rock, or he may be able
to judge a trait and occasionally get it right. He should know the traits needed for success after being
in professional ball for 20 years. We, IMO, should give some credit. Oli has seen JW tendencies when
adversity has happened. It's possible that he knows JW better in that regard better than any prior coach being
that JW was mostly successful his whole life until 2023.

Sports are a bit unique, not at all like the business world. The company throws a large sum of money
at you before you do anything for them as a #1 draft pick. The company wants production from that and has a
small window of time before both time and money are lost. It is probable, IMO, that other methods haven't seem
to be fully embraced with sustained commitment from JW. That he needs to take another level of
commitment and this is their "Hail Mary" to spark that commitment versus just doing the same thing in the
2025 off season and going into 2026. More time would be lost.

I think they want success. That there aren't any other motives nor are they attempting to rip the kid or throw him under
the bus. JW is important to them and by all accounts a good kid, why not nudge him for a mutual good outcome?

He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at Duke University, but is projected as an early round selection in June’s Major League Baseball draft. Not sure why this is being debated with much energy.
Some guys who couldn't sign their own name have had strong baseball
careers and brain surgeons who couldn't hit a curve ball. Sports don't require
much.

I'll assume that JW has the intellect to play baseball. Putting it all together
or not is a totally different story.

Marmol and Brown criticizing a player during a radio interview is low class. Yes, they were questioned. Yes, they answered. But one of the many things the pud marmol sucks at is handling player situations in front of the media. This turd cannot lead. He needs to go. The guy already finished top 2 in managers players want to avoid playing for.

Thankfully, the players show more class and dont trash this idiot in the media. He and Johnny bow ties cant end their tenure fast enough.
