Naw, Toews might actually want playing time. Lucic for $775,000 is worth it just to scare the hell out of Kyrou. Toews scares no one. Get used to seeing Milan around the team, in various roles.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 12:09 pmThat leader would be Toews...not somebody that tried to start a fight in a post game handshake line.

Has Lucic been playing this whole time? I dont remember seeing him for the last couple of years.
Did he quit for awhile or was he on a team I dont follow and just not get played a lot?
Wheres he been the last few years?

He hasn't been playing.
He was in the NHL's substance abuse program.

Instead of fighting hockey players he’s been spending the last 2 years fighting demons, alcoholism and unfortunately, his wife.

At most Lucic would be a tough guys 4th LW he hasnt done much in a long time. He will goon it up though, hits everything in sight will fight for his food seems like a long shot given the Blues roster

Re: Milan Lucic on a PTO
Do we really need Lucic? Is a goon necessary in today's game?
I kind of see Luc having problems trying to keep up with these guys. This teams getting faster. I know he's a 4th liner but Walker Toro and Bjugstad can skate.

Re: Milan Lucic on a PTO
I surely wonder about him.
He has 20 months of sobriety and no contact sports.
His Old Man came over to Vancouver from Serbia at 27 (The Bosnian Wars and atrocities?) to work as a Longshoreman. His Old Man committed suicide- I got no details.
Lucic was as good at scoring as he was at fighting as a kid, and in some streaks, was like that in the NHL. He seems a heck of a Money Player- his game doesn't dip in the playoffs. He was the Tournament MVP when his team won the Memorial Cup.
It appears he has been sober for 20 months now and has had lots of time to heal any injuries that can heal at his age.
His wife seems like a true gem. Although she has filed for divorce, she seems to still love him . She posted this just last Father's Day and I had to do some hard blinking a couple of times.

Lucic is a fun player to have on the roster and watch on the ice. You never know what he might do; throw a big hit, score a hat-trick, chase someone around the rink, drop the gloves, etc. I'll attend more games if he makes the team.

Re: Milan Lucic on a PTO
Players, in all sports, who are in recovery, sometimes lose their edge. The demons that drove their addiction, also drove their aggressiveness. Getting, and remaining, sober, is a battle. It also represents the ultimate victory. After years of tough play, abuse, and his fight for his life, it’s hard to say what Lucic has left.
