the funny thing will be when and if he finds it everyone here will all of a sudden will be calling for the cards to sign him long term...it is so dumb...he is still 23 ..recently he has been very encouraging
Why would it be a funny thing if he figures it out and becomes a good player that people would think he should be signed to a long term contract? Seems pretty logical to me. Or do you think they should have been advocating they sign him to a long term contract when he sucked?

Yeah, it would be funny as Cards could extend him cheap right now. Walker may just take a multi year deal guarantee for low Deal .Lol

I have my fingers crossed on Walker.
I give him a better shot than Gorman who sadly I don’t think has it upstairs.
Hopefully I get to admit I was wrong.

Agreed. Gorman looks p*ssed at the fact someone else got him out when he thinks they shouldn't have. Walker looks frustrated he didn't do a better job when he knows he should have. One of those personalties has sky-high potential and it's not Gorman.
Of course that's pure speculation based off reading facial expressions and body language. lol

Gorman always has that “deer in the headlights” look on his face.
Hope I’m wrong. Rooting for him!

He's been showing some life since he came back from rehab. I'm glad for him. Hoping he can use this time to collect himself and realize that he DOES belong and can run with the big fellas.

I get that but I know you are going to think everybody who comes up is going to be awesome and be all stars and everything the FO is genius and gold but others have witnessed the FO touting guys like Matt Adams and Randall grichuk as the middle of the order bats who would lead the cardinals to greatness and piscotty would be the next Matt holiday great player and Dylan Carlson would be the next great cardinal perennial all star and harison bader was going to be the next great cardinal center fielder and Tyler O’Neil was going to be the next cardinals MVPs and Dejong was going to be a 30 HR shortstop so forgive those who are skeptical of promises of the next great cardinal and walker is still an under .700 OPS guy so I would hold off on the call out threads

I've said this before and will say it again: There are just 2 guys who should not be traded in this reset or whatever you want to call it.
Winn and Walker.

Unsure about Gorman's mental situation but I am somewhat concerned about his back issue(s). Is it something that needs attention surgically ?
Medical conditions are kept under wraps . Hippa laws etc. If there is something serious , Cardinals FO will not make it public. It would need to come from Gorman himself .

Will he ever hit Major league pitching? How long do we give guys like him and Gorman?
The have to play until they lose all value in trade then we trade them for cash considerations. That is the Cardinals way.
Gorman is in his 4th year of not being a bat in the lineup you can count on. Those experiments cost games.

I think this is the real issue with Gorman, his health is questionable and it is a reason to move on from his this offseason if they can get a decent return for him. If you watch both Gorman and Walker, if they swing at stuff in the zone, they can both hit fine. When they expand the zone, they are helpless. The last few weeks, Walker has been more disciplined and he is getting results.
I would like to see them move on from Arenado, Gorman and Nootbar this offseason. I am hoping some combination of those players plus maybe another prospect or two can net a good ML ready SP prospect and a couple more arms. Then next season the line-up roster would be.
Donovan 2B
Herrera LF/DH
Wetherholdt 3B
Contreras 1B
Burleson RF/DH
Winn SS
Walker RF
Crooks/Pozo C
Scott/Church CF
Saggese, Fermin, Jordan and Prieto can fill out the bench / ride the Memphis shuttle.
SP
Gray
Liberatore
McGreevy
New guy acquired in trade
Leahy
With Doyle and Mathews hopefully ready to step in. I would try to trade Pallante this offseason. The bullpen will be fine. That is still a transition year, but, if Walker hits, that line-up could be good...

His back is certainly becoming an issue.
And those types of injuries can often become chronic.
And back surgery is tricky/risky. Everyone I know who has had it has wound up worse!

Not me. Surgery solved all the issues I was having. Now, age is another issue entirely.

mine as well.. night and day difference. but mine couldn't get a whole lot worse.. I was in pretty bad shape. couldn't stand up straight, could barely walk..etc
but back to the OP.. looking LOTS better for Walker these days. good for the kid
