Widow's Bay on Apple TV. Matthew Rhys plays the new mayor of a small New England island town which is the home of superstitious locals and supernatural events. Good mix of horror and comedy and not a big time investment with 30+ minute episodes. Agree with an online commenter that likened this show to Parks and Rec if it were written by Stephen King.

Fallout - in S2 now - a cute black dystopian comedy - wry, non-tedious, great sight gags.

+1. I know/ knew nothing about the video game. Great visuals. and I really like Goggins in lots of things.

Also watching Under Salt Marsh. starring Kelly Reilly. Welsh crime drama.

Also gonna check out "Company Retreat," the sequel to "Jury Duty" which was absolutely hilarious. Not sure how they'll fare without James Marsden though, who was brilliant.

Widow’s Bay is good.

Also two other new shows on Apple, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed and Cape Fear, are both worth a watch. Apple really does have the best original content these days.

MPG has Tatiana Maslany as a struggling single mom who gets caught up as a murder suspect. She is into cam boys, and there’s a layer of her cam boy faking his murder on cam to try to scam her, then he really gets murdered and she is accused of doing it.

CF only has 2 episodes out so far. Javier Bardem is creepy as always.

Since Covid my wife and I have slowed our social life way down. So, we have been watching a lot of different series. One we went back to recently, a series I had seen but my wife hadn't, was The Shield. It had been long enough that I had forgotten a lot of how the series went. Was great on a second watch and my wife loved it as well. Another one was Justified.

We are thinking about starting one neither of us have seen in Burn Notice after we finish The Testaments this weekend.

I love Justified. Such a great show, with great acting and some really strong storylines. Timothy Olyphant as a Marshall, who would have thought him as a cop??

Company Retreat is decently funny, but not as good as Jury Duty bc the concept is much more contrived.

I feel the same way, but I am only 1 episode in but already it seems so staged/scripted. Jury Duty was so good, so well done, and they found pretty much the perfect person for that role.

Finished it, had its moments but nowhere near as good as Jury Duty. It was overall far more contrived, which was tough to overcome.

Honestly it also seemed almost emotionally abusive at times to have this guy so worked up over a fake situation... it's not hard to imagine a real person in that situation getting really offended when they find out it's all fake, especially with forming actual friendships with people.

I guess hats off to them in casting this because they really had to thread the needle to find the perfect dupe: kind-hearted, extroverted and friendly, kind of a chameleon in terms of fitting into any social situation, smart enough to get the plot from point A to point B but dumb enough (pretty dumb actually!) that he couldn't identify the plot of an 1980s C-movie as it unfolded around him.

Not many people like that exist in the world, but I'd guess they're overrepresented among wannabe actors, which I suspect is what he was, which also makes it feel a little less authentic of a situation.

In any case, I'm interested to watch the reunion series they teased at the end of the finale. Love me some Marsden
