One thing I like about the pitchers they have drafted so far as they all profile around 6'2" 220. They are big strong guys. We have sat here and coddled Tink Hence for years hoping he would hold up as a starter and it is becoming obvious he won't. For too long this team drafted undersized guys who washed out. The physical profile of the players we are drafting is different than prior years. I wonder if that is by design or it just worked out that way.
I agree whole heartedly with this.
Even Dakota Hudson was too slim and not strong enough through the chest and shoulders.

the pitchers from the last few drafts sucked, as well as the their compliment from IFA/DSL...the recent pitchers are undersized, wild...nothing there resembling a pro pitcher...yet they're all at Peoria/Palm Beach making a laughing stock of our Minor Leagues
I guess they're addressing that this year.
---------------
only keepers I can think of are Clemente, Watson, Sparkes, Burns, Davis....maybe Brandt Thompson, strong maybe
edit...forgot Savacool.

Jury is still out for me on Findlay, and I don't know much about ADIV, he just got here from his TJ recovery. I'm not a fan of Worley and Harrison...so far. They get a pass from me until next year...since they're returning from injury

Another reliever.
Flores broke the theme of high contact, low K% guys they had been employing.

Ba report
Full name
Kaden Echeman
Born
Profile
Ht.: 6'0" / Wt.: 190 / Bats: R / Throws: R
Top Rankings
Draft Prospects
Ranked #404 prospect in 2025 draft
School: Northern Kentucky Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 0.0
A 6-foot, 190-pound righthander, Echeman steadily improved over three seasons at Northern Kentucky despite missing all of 2024 with injury. He posted a career-best 4.34 ERA over 56 innings with a 35.7% strikeout rate—which ranked 10th in the nation among qualified pitchers—and a 9.4% walk rate. He then carried on to the Cape Cod League, where he struck out 19 batters over his first 12 innings with a 2.25 ERA for Falmouth. Echeman’s arsenal may pique the interest of analytically-inclined teams. He throws a riding low-90s fastball that touches 95, and supplements with a variety of secondaries with plenty of movement. His upper-80s cutter is most consistent, but he’ll also flash a slider in the low 80s that averaged nearly 18 inches of horizontal break in 2025, a curveball around 80 mph with tons of depth when he has feel for it and a mid-80s changeup with some tumble and fade. Commanding his secondaries has proven a challenge at times and his lack of power is limiting. Still, his upward trajectory and deep bag of tricks may be appealing as a money-saving senior sign. If not, he’s set to transfer to Kentucky for 2026.

Thx for confirming what appeared to be a trend. You follow the system much closer than I do and have a good handle on the guys that will and won't work.
I know getting some of these guys to the big leagues will take a few years, but at least they added 2-3 arms that should be in our top 20 prospect list right away. Don't care whether Liam or Wetherholdt are 1 or 2. At least our top 2 guys we have now appear to real difference makers instead of JAGs.

They are drafting JAGs right now. Can they trip over another Albert Pujols here?

these JAGS are more athletic than what they've had before....SS moving to other locations....I LOVE THAT, imo.
maybe there's 2 gems in the bunch now....instead of the usual 0-1.
Who knows? Let's see how it works, but I like the athleticism I'm seeing
