You've always been complimentary of Willits, but I've not seen you this high on him up until this point. So, you don't think Willits makes it to #5? If he doesn't, i'd think that means we'd have a shot at 1 of: Arnold, Anderson, Hernandez, or Holiday. I think i'd be stoked with any of those 5 (includes Willits)

Read accounts of how pro scouting guys would come to a college campus to learn in-depth about the player. One scoout said , Rather than going to the head coach first (who would often give flowery reports ) , I would first go to the athletic team trainer. Ask him about how he worked in the weight room, did he like to go out and party with the boys, where his favorite watering hole might be... Then he would go to that bar and without diviulging who he was attempt to find out thru bartenders /patrons how he conducted himself there. . Any incidents ? etc.
He found out so much more about the total prospect than just his on field stats etc that we all see .
Then when draft came around , often some were surprised why the kid slipped later than expected . It may have been the 'red flags' .
Fans like us don't get the total picture like the guys who get paid to do this for a living.
So beware when a guy is selected over another kid .. You may be tempted to say " I don't get how we passed on Player A to take PLayer B !
We know 80 % about these kids .. it's the 20% that we do not know that the scouts know that can be the deciding factor .
PS BTW Post draft when a sports reporter says , Many thought you may pick Smith over Jones . Why did you pass on the pitcher to take the hitter?
The team will NEVER EVER say Oh we had reports on Jones that were questionable compared to Smith .. so we took Jones . Nope ! The team just say Both were under consideration at our choice and we decided to go the hitter route. The real reason is never divulged .

one of the dumbest picks I've ever seen.
