Not against RH starting pitchers. Flipping them vs LH starting pitchers makes sense.

Burly should be in the bottom of the line up against lefties, probably 8. Against righties he should be batting 4. Walker has a 950+ OPS both righties and lefties. Burley is 889, I think Walker should be firmly planted there.

Walker is still vulnerable against the really RH breaking ball/change up pitchers. Burleson not so much.

I'm more concerned with OBP and he is fine there. Takes very good ABs and that's all I can ask for.
It would also be nice if he could hit like George Brett. Maybe he will one of these days.
George Brett hit .228 over his first 208 PA
So no worries. Wetherholt will end up being a George Brett-type hitter. Is that what you are hinting at? Wetherholt was heralded as a special hitter, by some, coming out of college. He may get there. Right now, he's a very good leadoff hitter. Not necessarily a special hitter. That's all I'm getting at.
And he crushed at Memphis and yet you think Baez who is struggling at Memphis and has trouble making contact will come up and be good lol
Baez is a slugger that strikes out a lot. It happens. Ex. Dave Kingman, Adam Dunn, etc.
Dave kingman hit .278 at AAA and Dunn hit .329 at AAA they hit very well at AAA and their contact issues issues caught up
To them in the majors. Baez isn’t doing nearly as well as those guys did at AAA. So with guys with contact issues you can expect a drop off once they go to the majors so a guy batting .232 a drop off would be pretty ugly
I was just describing the type of hitter Baez seems to be.

Ops vs finesse pitchers per baseball reference
Burly 585
Walker 1.049

Ops vs rh pitchers
Walker vs rh. 954
Burly vs rh 889

Ops vs lh
Waller 958
Burly 532

No, this post is intended solely for the purpose of Shady seeing his screen name on print.
Think "The Idiot," when a developmentally disabled moron sees his name in the phone book and thinks he's made it.
That is Shady. All 15 of him.
First of all, the movie is "The Jerk".
Second you're an a$$holio
Right-The Jerk. Thanks for the correction.
Still works.
And you're still an [ash]hole
There are many worthless ashholes that stink up CT on a regular basis. Completely Ignoring them is the only way I've found to avoid the stench.
My request was entirely reasonable. I'll repost the request:

Describe exactly how he doesn't look comfortable in the batter's box lately.
I guess @Shady doesn't want to answer this!

Lately, Wetherholt seems to be taking more good pitches early in the count and swinging at more bad pitches behind in the count. That was a good followup question. You aren't one of the jerks that I am avoiding.

There is no comparison whatsoever, JJW is a vastly superior hitter to the Donger.

Check Wong's stats.

Wong at 24 years old:

150 games
557 AB
146 hits
28 doubles
4 triples
11 Home Runs
61 RBI
.262 Avg
.321 OBP

Really if Wetherholt achieves this kind of season they will be comparable.

C'mon sir

He's had an outstanding start to his rookie season, 2.3 bWAR in his first 45 GP is outstanding!

So is his .356 OB%........8 HR's..........5 SB's............33 Runs Scored...........+7 DRS (#2 in MLB)!

Donger was a .249 .292 .388 .680 hitter his first full season, re: MEDIOCRE.

The only comp between the two is fielding, JJW is the vastly superior hitter.
