Clearly as has been pointed out the over and over and over Blues have avoided the "tanking" by drafting and developing well and trading chips to acquire more top notch prospects who on the way
Our prospects are ranked and have been ranked no better than 15th among the 30 teams. This is average in my book. Further, it is pitiful considering that the Blues just freshly completed their re-whatever. The ranking should be very high, given the Blues cycle.

Some people believe that replacing average old players with average young players is significant improvement. I don't. Do you see any young ROR's? Any young Tarasenko's? Any young Petro's? The Blues are a good team, but they have a zero path to great.
You're not real.
Here is my suggestion to help you see more clearly. Give a listen to what other teams are saying about their own rosters. Talking about what they have and what they need, etc. Give a listen to what National hockey writers are saying about the Blues. If you only tune into local sports radio, you are listening to homers, the cheerleading section.

Having abysmal seasons is how you get lottery picks. That is not in the Blues MO (ha!). They are a business and playoff appearances gets a lot more revenue than some individual star player's jersey sales. The fan base loves a hard working blue-collar team so I doubt any star quality would change the fan base that much, at least locally. Sure you might get some band wagon fans with a superstar, but that does not add much to the local economy of the Blues ownership. So building a team for team's sake is in the Blues ownership interest IMO.

Fortunately according to our resident bot you can now get TOP5 Talent (trademark pending) with the 16th and 33rd overall picks, rendering the constantly spammed automated argument invalid
