Where did I say, "Bench Contreras"? Please pay closer attention. Move Contreras down to 6 for a while until he starts raking again.
But your lineup suggestion that you are referencing still has Herrera in the lineup. Which implies he's at catcher.

That alone should disqualify you from this debate.

that's not realistic. Pitchers love and prefer throwing to Pages. Herrera at Catcher full time is the only way you get Herrera, Burley and Contreras in the same lineup, and that has to be against RHP. Herrera is your DH most of the time and he's not coming out of the lineup often. Burleson is part time vs. RHP and never against LHP.
The lineup is simply better against RHP with Burleson in it.
I'm all for Burleson getting occasional spot starts to give contreras some rest, but that's about it. He's perfectly fine in that role, and his production and defensive liability make that role appropriate for him
You are entitled to your opinion. However, Marmol probably sees it differently. Burleson will likely be in the lineup, regularly, against RHP. And they see a lot of RHP.
Doubtful. Marmol seems to really like the RBI production and stout defense by Walker!

I'll be interested to see if Burleson completely forgets how to hit a baseball as the season goes on, just like last year. hopefully not
Fat boy ran out of gas last summer. His lack of conditioning and inability to hit lefties makes him a perfect part-time player.

So, who gets benched for Burly to play full time against RHP?
It seems to me, Burleson has been pretty much playing "full time against RHP". Sometimes in the outfield. I'd say, Walker is a candidate to get benched, sometimes, for Burleson to play against RHP.

It is my understanding that moderators don't want posting derogatory references about another poster's family. There are a few CT posters that seem to abuse that.

So you simply ignore Walker's speed & defensive advantage and the fact that Walker has 11 RBI in his last 15 games?

Burly is a part-time player.

In that case the moderators will issue warnings/pumishments when appropriate. YOU on the other hand are NOT a moderator and have no say over what the rest of us can or cannot post.

Got that, hotshot?

It is my understanding that a warning was given by a moderator regarding this matter. That is what the poster insinuated.

So you entered this thread here on PG 2 with basically stating Burly should play everyday against RHP. Now you are back pedaling and saying that Walker should sit some against RHP for Burly.

The fact is that Burly should play some against RHP, and that "some" should be in place of Walker, Contreras, Pages, Herrera rotationally when those guys get a day off.

The premise of this thread alluded to a straight platoon situation between Burly/JWalk. Stick with the premise or start your won thread.

So here we have a player in his 4th MLB season who has averaged +0.1 bWAR/season and yet we have all these discussions about him. He's had plenty of opportunity to play, and in that play we've seen he's just average to negative with his tools.
Contreras is far the superior player to date, and has played 1B very well. Burly is currently a role player, and very questionable he will ever be more than that for any significant period of time.
So far this season, Burly has a 0.0 bWAR for the season. What would Sagesse be if he have had Burly's roster spot all season?
My guess Sagesse's would be better than 0, but who knows?

Sags defensive ability and flexibility alone would have him over a 0.0 bWAR.

I was asked who gets benched in order for Burleson to play regularly against RHP. The most likely player against RHP, right now, is Walker. I just tried to answer the question. But it will fluctuate. giving some guys a day off here and there..
