The yanks and Indians sit good enough to trade but not offer their best. Giants might be a little more desperate.

Not much to get.
If he'd waive the NTC, then I think he'd be easy to move BDog.

The cost in late June/July wouldn't be a problem for a team like the Dodgers (seem to lose a starter a week), Yankees, ect.........

No John Smoltz like return but perhaps a prospect that makes it to MLB?
He is never gonna be at a more valued position. Even the Yanks could use him, but they have enough now to mitigate the return. They are not desperate. The only contender I see as far n need is the Giants.

Not only is he pitching very well, he also would give the acquiring team comfort that he takes the ball every fifth day.

The Dodger starters drop like flies. They're getting Ohtani back, Kershaw's back too but who knows who they lose next month?

Dbacks and Red Sox could use him too.

Imagine in previous generations a SP who game in and game out had to be pulled immediately upon reaching his 3rd time through the order at like 85 pitches. Madness!

But that's how most teams and games are, nowadays, anyway. Mikolas is lucky in that respect, otherwise he'd be a middle reliever.

The past few years his job has basically been to eat innings regardless of outcome (to save the 'pen) but this year they want the outcome.

Not worth trading if the return is a marginal player that might make the big leagues.

As one of his biggest detractors, I must admit that he's making me eat my words, up to this point. If it continues then I would be up for a reunion, I guess. He's pitching like a number 1-2 right now. But, the season is long and fraught with peril. LOL
Nooooo! This is his last season as a Card. No mas! Trade him at the deadline if you can
Most likely, but if he pitches any where near like he's pitching now and can be had cheap, well, you never have enough pitching as they say.
Yeah, no... he'll be 37.5
A lot of pitchers last until 40 or more. Fact is, if he pitches like this, I don't care if he's 80. If he pitches good and the price is competitive then I'm in.
Name 3 starting pitchers at age 40 within the last decade.
Adam Wainwright
Justin Verlander
Rich Hill

Next?
I want nothing to do with Lizard puke and his 10 WAR over 12 seasons, once his contract is done and his 4.02 Cards career ERA

rich hill did 58 innings at age 40

You've won the argument, IMO. You don't have to be coy w Hill's production. Yes, 58 innings at age 40, then averaged about 145 innings each of the last three years.

I don’t want him playing for the Cardinals past this year either, of course. I was just answering your question to name 3 SP’s at age 40 within the last decade.

I want to play too!

Bart Colon/2018 at age 45

Max Scherzer/age 41 in July

Jesse Chavez/age 42 in August (okay not a starter but he has started 85 games in his career  )

Justin Verlander, Charlie Morton, Max Scherzer. I believe Adam Wainwright pitched also. Even cherry picking the last decade I could still find pitchers. What's your point?
