Good morning.
How good will he be. He is really figured out hitting, added to his stellar defense and base stealing, we have a shot at a good to great center fielder.
His stat line last two games is elite ish. Shots down the line, to opposite field doubles.
I see him leading league in doubles and triples one year. Has that ever happened.
Has Scott emerged.
In spring training, I alluded to the fact that Scott deserved as much leeway as Walker and Gorman.
I see him emerging as a team leader. We needed that especially from the youth side of the clubhouse.
Gang- this is exactly what the reset was intended to do- let young play, see who can. So far several bright spots.
Do you see a possible Scott/Brock comp?
Stop it.
He's not Lou Brock.
Yepez is not Pujols.
Burly is not Votto or Gwynn.
You need to chill a little. Let some others have some fun with hopeful comps without your ridicule. So what if somebody is wrong about a baseball projection? This ain't cancer, nuclear war, etc.
You made a comp of Burleson to Tony Gwynn, one of the most pure hitters in the history of the sport? yikes
I don’t get the votto comparison either. Votto had power and averaged 108 walks per season. Burleson has zero power and it would take him 3 full seasons to get 108 walks
People say the craziest things. For instance I compared Scott to Brock and in physical stature to Ricky H. I even compared Walker to Winfield or a Clemente!
Crazy I tell you.

Well one of Walkers scouting reports when he was drafted compared him to Winfield so a professional made the same comparison which makes sense both were big and tall both had big power potential it doesnt mean Walker will ever unlock the power Winfield had because he doesnt have the launch angle winfield did but the potential is there. But comparing Burly and Votto is just strange two completely different skill sets. Burly isnt going to unlock the potential to walk 100 times a year or hit for power

Victor can do a lot of things
but he can't throw a lick.
Opponents will take the extra base without even hesitating.
But in this lineup as it is with his offense you just have to live with it.
I haven't noticed.
I have.
I like him for his offense/potential but his arm isn't going to deter many baserunners.
Neither did Curt Flood's, Ray Lankford's or McGee's for comparison.

McGee had a better arm.
Flood hurt his arm in the minors and Lankford's offense as a CF'er who would care if he ever threw anyone out.

Yeah I made the comparison earlier in the season.
I know that's quite a stretch because Lankford was a tank physically but maybe Victor will hit the milk shakes and Peanut butter sandwiches in the off season.

Hopefully VS2 just is VS2 and has a nice career in St. Louis.
In 2024 the average OPS in CF by team was .697 the Cards were last with a .570
2024 in WAA the Cards were tied for last with the CWS with a -1.5 WAA.
A top 6 OPS in CF was .735 by Matt Vierling a St. Louis guy with .257/.312/.423
A top 4 OPS in CF was .762 by JJ Bleday .243/.324/.427
Scott may profile differently in getting those top 6 OPS and will bring added value
in base running. I really believe though that a top 6 OPS is in ability. he's at .337/.400/.737 now.
IF he can do that the Cards will be just fine at CF instead of it being a team issue. His glove
will be just fine.

Again, if he’d average 3 hits per two games, 1.5 hits per game, he’d hit .300. That s 240 hits. That’s a lot of stolen bases.
