Crossland has an ERA of 6.32 for the Sooners. With all the guys still available in the Top 100, they take this guy?
I don't get it.

NOW this is a classic Flores Pick....injured pitcher. Will fight control next year while they float him tween Starter and Backend reliever in Palm Beach. He'll frustrate the hell out of me as he blows game after game, then he'll show a few flashes after the draft next year.

Rinse and Repeat ...Flores is predictable
Re: GDT : MLB Draft (7/13-14) ~ 5:00pm CDT
He pitched injured all year.
Re: GDT : MLB Draft (7/13-14) ~ 5:00pm CDT
Crossland has given up 68 hits in 68 innings and walked 33. Maybe they see some potential there?

He is better now and had a whip bang finish to the spring season.craviduce wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 10:51 amNOW this is a classic Flores Pick....injured pitcher. Also crushed the Texas CC league in 2024.
This could work.

Besides his given name is Cade (K'd) - good omen for a pitcher.

3 college arms. Gonna have a lot to watch to end the year. Palm beach could be stacked suddenly

pitchers drafted high in the draft, usually don't throw until the next season.tyoung12290 wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 10:55 am 3 college arms. Gonna have a lot to watch to end the year. Palm beach could be stacked suddenly
The last one I remember was Graceffo for around 9 innings in 7 appearances back in 2021. The draft is too late to start them back up. The teams would rather give them a full rest until Fall instructionals

BA report
Full name
Cade Crossland
Born

Profile
Ht.: 6'2" / Wt.: 195 / Bats: L / Throws: L
Top Rankings
Draft Prospects
Ranked #173 prospect in 2025 draft
School: Oklahoma Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.5
BA Grade: 45/High
Crossland dominated with Weatherford (Texas) JC in 2024 when he struck out 100 batters in 68.1 innings. He transferred to Oklahoma for the 2025 season where he moved right into the team’s starting rotation and posted a 6.32 ERA over 13 starts in 68.1 innings, with a 26.6% strikeout rate and 10.4% walk rate. Listed at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, Crossland is a solidly filled-out lefthander who has a loose and easy arm action and throws from a three-quarters slot. He sits in the low 90s with a fastball that has a lot of natural armside running life and topped out at 98 mph this spring. It’s not a swing-and-miss heater, but he uses it to set up his standout changeup. Crossland uses his above-average mid-80s changeup heavily against both lefties and righties. Like the fastball, Crossland imparts a lot of armside life on the pitch and generally does a nice job spotting it at the bottom of the zone where he generates whiffs and groundballs. He throws a low-80s breaking ball that blends in shape between a sweeping slider and more of a curveball with depth and typical three-quarters shape. Crossland is a solid strike-thrower.
Scouting Grades: Fastball: 55 | Slider: 45 | Curveball: 45 | Changeup: 60 | Control: 50.
