It's watching young players grow into effective NHL players at a young age, and knowing more help is on the way. The Blues were two seconds away from being in the final eight teams last year. I wish I understood why the Blues haven't woken up the last two years until after the break, but they can be a good team.
Agree with every point. Well stated.

Im so tired of hearing this 2019 comment. This is obviously a different team. Glad to see them playing well but leave 2019 in 2019.
You can be tired of listening to it but the reason it continually gets brought up (just like the Cards in 2011) is because for 30 games now we have been seeing people hoping and wishing for losses because of a draft pick.

If Army had done that at the 2019 TDL then we don't get that parade. To give up on a season before even half of it is played because of some mythical high draft pick becoming a top 5 player in the league has been worn out. They are winning and quite frankly it is upsetting fans which blows my mind.

Just like in 2009, these games matter in teaching young kids how to win in the NHL which is massively important and many don't think it matters. I'd much rather teach young kids how to win in this league than teaching them to lose for a better draft pick.
We don't need another draft to see how a successful team is built:
Colorado, Carolina, Dallas, Edmonton and Buffalo each have 2 TOP5 picks on their roster.

There is NOT 1 GOOD TEAM that has zero TOP5 picks, including the Blues.

Some think that another year, a 21st year, of drafting at #15 is the key to success. They don't seem to notice that 20 years of that approach has not worked.
Of those teams, there is ONE Stanley Cup since the lockout.

Same as the Blues.

I actually think the key is never compromising the future for short term. Always be building for the future, improve your team for they playoffs with in coming young players you didn't trade for rentals 3 years ago. Always building and developing the next wave.

I'm all for rooting for the Blues but 7 pts behind with 15 games to go is gonna have to be an epic run. Col (2), Minny, LA, Anaheim all still to come.

“As of mid-March 2026, the St. Louis Blues have very low odds of making the playoffs, with betting lines listing them around +1800 to +2200 to qualify. Their chances are minimal, often accompanied by heavy odds to miss the playoffs (approximately -8000 to -10000), making them a long shot to reach the postseason”.

This team is like having a toxic girlfriend. Just does the opposite of everything that you want while you watch other teams do everything right.

Sure, it stings, but that guy isn’t invested in the Blues. We’d absolutely be laughing at the Predators if they were doing this.

The reality is we as fans don’t control anything and the NHL holds all the chips w/the Draft Lottery, anyway

This is like the least amount of hockey this team has had to play in a stretch in the last 2 years. If they want the fools hope to stay alive. Have to win today and saturday. They then would get back into a more normal every other day rhythm where they would be having to win and scoreboard watch.

Blues are sitting pretty with #5, #15 and #31 but the Blues have a relatively easy schedule left im hoping they end up in the Top 6

If Thomas has a hurt hand he should be sitting. That would have helped things out and not risked making his injury worse.
