Re: Parayko going to Buffalo if approves
The blues have no 2026 2nd round pick correct? So this late 1st would essentially get our pick back?
Re: Parayko going to Buffalo if approves
Regardless of the return losing Parayko has that emotional sting. But you can’t really argue with what’s coming back. Outstanding trade and really set up on the right side for the future with Jiricek and Mailoux mixed in as well

ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Blues are trading defenseman Colton Parayko to the Buffalo Sabres, according to reports.
Darren Dreger, TSN's Hockey Insider, reported that Parayko is being traded to Buffalo. It is believed the Blues will receive 18-year-old Radim Mrtka, a defenseman selected ninth overall by the Sabres in the 2025 NHL Draft, and a first-round pick, Dreger said.

Even if Mailoux doesn't work out, Jiicek and Mrtka is extremely exiting.

Agree. If the deal is Mrtka, 2026 1st and Timmins to help with salary, that’s decent. Timmins is a RD signed thru next year at $2.2m. Would help on the right side as a bridge to some of the younger guys.sdaltons wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 16:17 pm I think whoever said we may take Timmons back might be on to something. Remember we can't retain salary for just this year. Whatever you agree to retain, you retain each year of the contract. Would prefer not paying part of his contract the next four years. So the other option to offset salary would be to take a contract back in the deal.
Edit: Maybe they throw Ellis back to us as well.

Got to think at least one will turn into a top 4 dman.ShakeyWalton wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 16:23 pmEven if Mailoux doesn't work out, Jiicek and Mrtka is extremely exiting.
Army leaving us how he found us, with some top end D prospects.

And if he stays healthy we can move him at the deadline. RHD are always wanted.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 16:25 pmAgree. Agree with all, including trying to get Ellis in the deal.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 16:25 pmAgree. If the deal is Mrtka, 2026 1st and Timmins to help with salary, that’s decent. Where is the Timmins talk coming from? I don't think I've seen him mentioned. Is this forum chatter or is there a source?
Re: Parayko going to Buffalo if approves
So, we had Thomas away from the team for personal reasons, and Parayko out with phantom back spasms now. Sounds kind of like Thomas took a couple of days to think about waving his no trade and decided to stay so he is back playing. They approached CP55 and he is still thinking about it while "resting his back". This theory would end Thomas speculation.

Faulk isn't nearly good enough anymore to handle those minutes. I don't understand this one at all.TheHighHat wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 16:12 pmThe other team in the conversation would have to be Tampa, but I agree with you because of the age and miles on Hedman and McD.Backesdraft wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 15:59 pmAm I underestimating another team in the East, or is it possible that might be the best top 6 in the conference now?TheHighHat wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 15:53 pmAnd he doesn't play on the PPShakeyWalton wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 15:51 pmLove it! Paryako is on the wrong side of 30 and has 1 goal in 58 games. I respect him as a great Blue, but hell yes, love that return if that’s legit.
Samuelsson-Dahlin
Byram-Parayko
Power-Kesselring
I still think the Bolts may add a RHD to round that veteran group out.
Detroit will also look to add a RHD
If CP55 approves, does Army keep Faulk to play big minutes on the right side and hold the hands of the youngsters next year?
