Still doesn't change the fact that Mo typically hibernated every winter instead of making moves. He was a putz. Well they certainly would be an even better team w/Tucker (money is no object for them), Donny and Noot as their 4th OFer.12xu wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 09:01 amGreat idea! Pages would have a huge impact in the St. Louis OF for years! Big question: Would the Dodgers do it?rockondlouie wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 08:49 amDonny + Noot = A. Pages!
(And the Dodgers sign K. Tucker)
I've been after Pages since last season, he'd be perfect to build out OF around and this could be our best shot landing him.

So, maybe the thinking here allows a prospect to remain in the minors for further instruction/development?
The Cardinals just keep burning through players who they rush to the Bigs, have a promising season, burn out before they touch their Prime, then get picked up and produce at a lessened market value but in their primes for other teams (ref Luke Voit & Adolis Garcia)
1b Burly
2b JJ
SS Winn
3b Gorman

CF Scott

DH Fermin/Sagesse/ whoever can swing a bat

Then your better off just throwing a Church, or Koperniak out there along with Noot, Scott and Walker and calling it a day. Save some money and see what you got. See who rises to the top considering this is a rebuild year. That is a Johnny Moz list all day long. I do hope Bloom has more sense than that. If he goes after a RHH OF then it needs to be via trade for someone controllable and you know is a legit player for a few years, no questions asked. Does not have to hit 30HR's but a .285, and 20 to 25HR's works. That can be had in a Donovan, Pallante, lower minors prospect deal.
Someone please explain the need for May and RHH OF??
Certainly isn’t going to make much a difference in standings

Right, they’re more the example of what happens when you rush guys to the bigs before they’re ready.Goldfan wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 12:16 pmC Herrera/PagesBleedingBleu wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 08:24 amI’m not a big believer in rushing prospects to the big leagues. May can eat some innings. And all vets on one year deals can be flipped at the deadline.

The product on the field is going to stink. The product last year stunk. The product the year before was 71-91
I want a winning team……you seem fine and content to Wait….for players who today are not ready to win but somehow you have faith or hope that at some point in the future they will win. FAR from any guarantee….but you and those like you feel as though it is a guarantee. Wait a few years and presto talent abound at Busch stadium.
But you also want middling talent to be brought in for ‘26……to eat innings?? Why?? Pallente can eat innings….Leahy can eat innings
I filled out lineup with current players…..we really don’t need any more. Winning isn’t an objective.
What’s the objective ???

And yes, numerous teams sign players to flip. See Maton last year.
Also, nothing is a guarantee. Ask the Mets.

If any of the talk about Seattle holds true.
Arroyo has some intrigue. Not a big power hitter

I assume Arroyo would be part of a Donovan trade? That’s cool, but we are talking about two different things.
Whatever you might flip him can be found in the
MiLB FA bin.
Arroyo or any player is part of the 26 why not use those spots for players who could be a part of a team.
I understand the desire of flipping, I see it with NC.
IMO TP is very low hanging fruit that may have zero desire to be in St Louis. There more value to just keeping Lars and seeing if he increases his value
Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
I’m not talking about flipping Pham. If he struggles, he can be released. It’s like the 2004 cards bringing in Roger Cedeno.renostl wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 13:33 pmNo need for Pham. As far as having NCon the team and possibly flipping him….every offseason on CardsTalk I have to remind CTers how freaking long the mlb season is and how many innings pitched and plate appearances are required.
Assuming they trade for Arroyo, they don’t need to clear out the outfield options in order for him to get a large chunk of PT over 162 games.
