No. Please don’t. Move on. We need an outfield with some pop. Add it to it. Unless you think Bader will propel the Cardinals into the playoffs somehow.Rosie's Rule wrote: ↑23 Dec 2025 22:15 pm Saw another report in which they are considering Bader which would actually make sense - the other option was Hunter Renfroe which at that point they might as well give Saggese or Herrera a shot in left.

Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
Mo was a genius until it ran out. He kept 3 million fans in the stadium with the promise of the next prospect was the real deal. Like most Cardinals fans, they ate up everything the Cardinals told them, because to disagree with their idols would be blasphemy. So most fans adopted whatever mentality Mo was throwing out there at the time.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 01:41 amMo would throw an outfield of Nootbaar, Scott, and Walker and hope all made unrealistic improvements. Now they will adopt whatever Bloom throws out there. Hopefully Bloom produces.

Just say no to Harrison Bader.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑23 Dec 2025 22:29 pm I believe that Bader is in his prime and could potentially outperform a 2 year contract.

I have had Andujar on my want list for months. One year deal for 5-7 MM.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑23 Dec 2025 21:35 pmFrom that list I prefer Andujar or Hayes.BleedingBleu wrote: ↑23 Dec 2025 21:31 pm Replacing the void left by moving Willson Contreras…

Chas McCormick
Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
I was looking at Andujar, he has hit for average, but his run production is lower than what it should be. I’m not sure I’d want to give that much money for what he ends up producing.12xu wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 06:43 amI have had Andujar on my want list for months. McCormick, could be a good change-of-scenery option. His cost should be a lot lower than Andujar’s.
However, my preference, if they are determined to trade Donovan, would be to acquire a good hitter in return for a combination of Donovan and Romero. Kristian Campbell is on my wishlist.

I’m not sue the point of this??
If dumping salary and not caring about winning in ‘26, why bother with bringing any new MLB bodies in? Play your young guys like last season
Why bring in May and pay him 12mil?
So they can win 75-80 games opposed to 65-70?

Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
I’m not a big believer in rushing prospects to the big leagues. I actually think it’s detrimental in more than one way. A players psychology. The team burning through service time. The 40-Man Roster being consumed by someone not ready to produce.
So, maybe the thinking here allows a prospect to remain in the minors for further instruction/development?
The Cardinals just keep burning through players who they rush to the Bigs, have a promising season, burn out before they touch their Prime, then get picked up and produce at a lessened market value but in their primes for other teams (ref Luke Voit & Adolis Garcia)

Why would Contreras want to stay?

M. Andjuar/30 (2025: .318 .352 .470 .822) could be a cheap one year OFer signing.

Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
He is Dominican, but is he "one tough Dominican"?
Any short term deal may be Bloom thinking, I can flip this guy at the trade deadline!
Why would the player sign in St Louis? Because they will trade him to a playoff team later!

Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
I like Andujar for several reasons. He has power, hit 27 HR with the Yankees in 2018, and 10 with A's and Reds last year in only 321 AB. He finally got healthy last season after years of injuries limited his PT. He does not strike out a lot, and he is still only 30 yrs old. He is mostly a LF at this point, but he has played some 3B. His slash line vs LHP: .297/.332/.475/.807.Hoosier59 wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 06:57 amI was looking at Andujar, he has hit for average, but his run production is lower than what it should be. Give him an offer before the Reds sign him.
McCormick has declined severely in the last two seasons, but he did have a very solid '23. If they don't get Andujar, maybe they could take a low cost 1 year flier on him. I do like his slash line vs LHP: .280/.354/.493/.847.
Now I would love to get Kristian Campbell!! I would be shocked if Bloom could get him for Donovan and JoJo. That would be a massive, tremendous trade. I expect Boston would require much more talent to let Campbell go.
Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
I would love to see him get tough in a Cardinal uni next year.
Joaquin was one of a kind, for certain.
Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
With the Dodgers.
